How big is the fridge (in comparison to say the ones at BWPPI)? Is it big enough to hold 2 1/2 gallons of milk, and some other things like yogurt, string cheese, some fruit, bottle water, that kind of stuff.

How large is the freezer? can I put blue ice bags in it? any room for anything else?

Thanks!!

Still can't believe we are staying at GCH, so excited!!!

Blue ice will fit in the freezer, we had water bottles in our fridge, no milk so I don't know about that but it's just your standard size room fridge. Not too big at all.

We just returned from 5 day stat at GCH. We had 2 half gallons of milk, yogurt tubes, 2 liter bottle of coke, some bottles of water, laughing cow cheese, cheese singles, You can take some of the trays off which will let you fit in items of your choice .

Hope that helps.

As already mentioned, the fridges are quite small. I wanted to mention, though - I would not count on refrigerating milk or anything else that is easily perishable. We turned our fridge as cold as possible and it was nowhere close to 37 degrees. I have found that, for whatever reason, this is not uncommon in hotels. If I was going to bring milk, I'd buy nonperishable milk (Horizon or the like) just in case.

We didn't have any issues with the fridge keeping milk cold. I had turned our fridge to the max and it was starting to freeze some milk we had in a cup! Had to adjust the temp again.

I think it has a lot to do with the individual room. If you really wanted to keep something cold, I'd call the front desk and say the fridge isn't cooling. We've experienced both sides of it. With them being at kid level, I think they get a lot of abuse.

I bought Horizon tetra-pack milk and I'm so glad I did. Our fridge was barely cold enough to chill our canned drinks! In fact, it stopped working one night and ruined 6 containers of yogurt. The front desk said that they would be replaced, but they never were.

I know it's more expensive to get the tetra-pack milk, but it's worth it to not have spoiled milk. (We ended up throwing them in a cooler with ice after the fridge stopped working. Just one of the many disappointing things about the GCH.)

Guess we got one of the "working" fridges !! Good thing ,coz the week we were there was the hottest week and the highest temp -110 degrees on Monday ( sept 27 ). Gosh was it HOT !!!

Our fridge worked great, we had leftovers in there and we had water bottles, everything was kept nice and cold. If the fridge isn't working correctly please call the front desk and let them know.

The first thing I do when I hit the room is test the fridge I crank it up and see if it responds after about 15 minutes. Then I can know for sure if I need to call. If your fridge doesn't work - don't hesitate to call the front desk. They will replace it or fix it!

As far as content goes, if you rearrange the shelves, or take one out, you can fit a full gallon jug of milk inside. I've done this on many occasions.

They also have a can dispenser that is part the door shelving. The freezer is big enough for a 4-pack of uncrustable sandwiches (without the box) or two freezer packs.
