Calling all GCH veterans...fill me in. We are visiting Monday 6/15 - Friday 6/19. Party consists of Me, DH, DD11, and DS2. We will be celebrating DS 3rd birthday...it will be on 6/21.
I was just going to respond to your other post when you mentioned you were going to eat snacks in the Concierge lounge. We just spent a week at the GCH Concierge and loved it. We booked via our DVC points which ended up saving us money over cash rates, so we felt the service we received was a good deal for us.
This is the info I would like to know -
1. Brief listing of items known to have been available to eat/drink in the lounge and times they are available. I am really interested to know when they make the breakfast items available on MM days since our MM will begin at 7am.
My Concierge flyers are at home, so I'll do this from memory
Items available all day:
Coffee, Juice, Sodas, water in self service refridgerators
PB&J snack sandwiches (weren't out when we arrived, asked for them and they were out/stocked the rest of our trip)
Beer/Wine/Cocktails - they don't set these out, you have to ask, but I think you can ask for something any time during the day. You can also ask for to-go and they put in plastic cups to take back to your room
Morning - 7-10am - Continental breakfast - fruit, mini muffins, cereal boxes, milk, juice
Lunch/Tea Time - 11-4pm - tea sandwiches (turkey, cucumber, salmon), scones, jam, chocolate cream, cookies
Evening - 5-7pm - hot appetizer, fruit, cookies (I think)
Late evening - 8-11pm - desserts, cookies, milk
2. I know WDW concierge contacts you prior to your arrival to assist with planning, etc. Does DL concierge do this?
No, we were not contacted prior to arrival. We checked in at the main reception, then were led up by a Concierge attendant who gave us a tour of the Concierge lounge and then led us to our room. They have 1-2 attendants at a desk on the Concierge floor who can assist you with any front desk type needs throughout your stay. We rented DVDs (for free), changes PS reservations, set up a Build A Bear reservation (GCH has certain mornings where their guest can go to BAB before it opens)...
3. If anyone recent visitors saved a copy of the daily activities with times, etc. PM me with this.
I'll see if I can find one tonight and post. One of activities my children loved was the nightly storytelling. They have a storyteller down in the lobby each night, then the person comes up to the lounge for a private concierge session. They lay out a blanket and pillows and the kids listen to a story, sing songs. Very interactive and fun for the kids. Parks closed at 8, story time was at 8:15 so this was a great end to our day.
4. Do they do anything special for birthdays if you let them know we are celebrating it?
We weren't celebrating anything so I don't have any comments on this.
5. Is Storytellers only a character meal for breakfast?
Yes, Storytellers only has characters at breakfast
I specifically didn't make PS reservations during this trip because I planned to take advantage of the 'free' concierge food and was not dissappointed (except I think I gained 5 lbs...

) Food was yummy, CMs were all very helpful, Storytellers were wonderful. We also brought Tortilla Joes take out up to the lounge one night for dinner. It was great to have a place other than our rooms to eat/hang out. They also have a small TV and my DD and I would hang out in the lounge and watch cartoons/color, etc while my DS (and husband) were napping. Loved it!
