I understand that the general public can't use this entrance during peak times i.e. park open. My question is do the guests of the other 2 resort hotels count as general public or is this entrance open to them at park open?

I believe that as long as you're staying on property, you can use it at anytime DCA is open. The rest of us can only use it after 12:30pm.

It is my understanding as well that PP and DLH guests can use this entrance first thing in the morning.

What I am not sure about is if PP and DLH guests also get to enter the park earlier than the public, as someone else posted (in an email about GC guest benefits.) Does anyone know?

Actually, anyone can get into DCA 30 minutes prior to park opening--both the GC gate and the main gate open at 9:30.

It used to be a private entrance for GC guests only. But when they closed the PP entrance they opened the GC entrance for all guests staying at a Disney hotel.

This is what I meant, quoted by AspiringCindy:
"Don't forget about the "Soarin Over California Tour" which is only offered to guests staying at GC. You enter CA through GC's entrance before the park even opens. A CM checks everyones card to make sure you are a guest at GC, then you are lead to "Soarin" to ride before hours. Also, the CM talks about the ride and answers questions! Most people do not know about this!!"

Does this apply to DLH and PP guests? Sounds cool!

The special pre-hours opening and visit to Soarin' is only for GC guests.

I'm still new to these boards, so bear with me if I ask dumb questions!!

Where is this entrance??

The entrance is by Storytellers Cafe. Go to the link & click on the picture & you'll see where the entrance is (Napa Rose is wrong - it's actually to the left of the entrance, not the right, but I'll fix it later).

Can anyone give me some more info about this? We are staying at the GC for our June trip so it would be nice to have the no-wait for Soarin'.

Thanks!

When we stayed there in Oct, a list of of the following day's activities was placed on our nightstand during turndown service. Activities included storytelling at the hearth, scavenger hunt, brisk stroll through DCA before opening, early entry into Build-A-Bear, etc. All the activities available to guests of GCH will be listed on the sheet each night, as well as where to meet or who to call to ensure that you can participate.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

It reminds me of the DCL...the navigators each night with turndown...all I can say is :woohoo: !!!!

You get in early to DCA...is there anything to do?

I was at DLR 2 weeks ago today and we were not staying on property. We were able to use the DCA entrance as long as it wasn't in the morning.
