GC or DL hotel in December??

My main concern is proximity and room size. There will be 5 people in the room. 2 adults, 1 teenager, a 9yo and 3 yo. I'm thinking of GC because it's so close and my mom can get back to the hotel without much walking.

We'll arrive on the 17th and I'm afraid the monorail won't be in operation so would we have to walk to DLH from the park?

Also, which hotel offers the biggest room? Is there any room that would accommodate 6?

Lots of questions, I know...I appreciate any info.

For proximity; The Grand Californian certainly wins; however, The Disneyland Hotel has the larger standard rooms.

Either property has suites that would accomodate 6 people...

Your time period is approximately when the monorail is to be up again; however, anything can happen to delay--one never knows....

We stayed at the GCH last week, and a standard room for 5 people includes 2 queen beds and a day bed. A 6th person would technically not be allowed in the room, but there was plenty of floor space for a sleeping bag.
