GC excursion....shipwreck & snorkeling?

Has anyone ever done the DCL excursion Shipwreck & snorkeling??
I think it sounds nice, but I am terrified that I will be snorkeling and look up and there is a SHARK around me.

Has anyone ever done this excursion? Any feed back would be helpful.

Yes, we did this excursion in June and really enjoyed it. The only drawback is it is right there in the cove in viewing distance of the Magic. You don't get to see any of the island on this excursion, but there were plenty of fish to be seen. We were done in plenty of time to go back to the ship and clean up and head back into town to shop.

No sharks on this excursion, just Tarping (I think). They DO look like sharks but are not!! They sleep at the bottom of the reefs (in the shadows) during the day. They are pretty big. My family really enjoyed this excursion!

When are you going on your cruise?
We did it last week. Turkey Cruise.
I would say that because of the Hurricane that it did not look like i remembered it from 2 years ago....
There was limited fish....Not as much as two yrs ago. The sand on the bottom was gone, at least compared to what i remember
If you are going soon, other DIS'ers went to Stingrays and had a better time.

We went on this excursion last April and had a great time. I was VERY nervous about going (sharks and anything else that might bit, sting, or sneak up on you from behind!), but loved it! There were some teeny tiny jelly fish that freaked me out at first, but found out they were harmless. We also saw some tarpons(SP?). They do look like sharks but are harmless as well. They usually stay near the bottom, but one came up right past us to the surface and did a little leap. It must have been 5 - 6 feet long! Not completely out of the water or anything, but it definitely very cool!

I actually liked the fact that we were so close to the cruise ships. For some reason, it made me feel safer!
