GC concierge check-in question

Hi,
My family will be going to Disneyland in early July and we are staying in GC concierge. There seem to be several conflicting posts regarding the check-in procedure for concierge guest. Some posts indicate the check-in is at lobby with all other guests, then there are posts I read indicated they were check-in by concierge staff at lounge. When I made the reservation, the CM wasn't sure. Can anyone shed some light on this? Thank you.

It's been a while since I stayed on the concierge level at the GC but at that time the valet who met our car escorted us directly to the concierge floor and then one of the concierge staff took us to our room and did the check-in there.

I'm sure they will tell you upon arrival what the current procedure is. ENJOY, you will love the concierge lounge at the GC! :)

I'm glad this question was posted. We are staying GC concierge and I never thought about checking in at a different location than the front desk.
Also, do you know what they charge for valet paking? I'm thinking after our long flight valet will be the way to go.

We are also in GC concierge. Would like to know answers to above as well as where the self parking is at the hotel?

The self parking for the GC is directly across the street...very convenient. I've done concierge twice and both times we were met at the door and taken directly to the front desk (bypassing some people in line waiting to check in). I know others have been taken to the lounge to check in...maybe time of arrival impacts this...or they just keep changing their minds! You will love the hotel and I feel concierge level pays for itself in breakfast and water, especially if there are more than two people in your party. I'm planning a visit in October (before my annual pass expires!)

We will also be there at the beginning of October (Oh my only 27 more days!!). There will be four of us and we're really looking forward to it (never got summer holiday this year). Are the theme park view rooms quite a distance from say the lounge, elevators?

Some of the theme park rooms are the farthest away from the lounge and lobby elevators. There is another set of elevators for the far wing (near Storytellers/Napa Rose/Pool). If you want to be near the lounge request room numbers 6006-6013. These overlook the green meadow with a view of the Paradise Pier section of the park. (optimum room would be 6012 or 6013 as the balconys jut out further and you can see the pool also).
Right outside the lounge is a staircase to the fifth floor that takes you right to a patio that overlooks the pool. This is a great outdoor spot to relax. I've picked up my breakfast and taken it there if the lounge was crowded. The lounge also has a balcony that holds four or five tables.
Hope this helps!

During our last 2 GC concierge stays we were met by a staff member curbside and escorted up to our room and had in-room check in (not at the lounge).
The self parking is very convenient and unless you plan to go in and out a lot with your car I suggest saving a couple of bucks and use it (as self parking is included in the resort fee - valet is not and you still have to pay the resort fee anyway). We usually just park and never touch our car during our stay anyway.
The lounge is on the 6th floor - there is also a staircase that goes between the 5th and 6th right by the lounge entrance.

If you have any other questions please ask - I have stayed at the GC concierge several times in various rooms.
:)

Hookedup-we were asked if we wanted a pool/theme park view.
We are staying concierge at GCH and wanted to be relatively close to the lounge and the elevators. What will we see from our room? Good location or not?
