Gaylord Palms

My hubby was just informed he will be attending a conference at Gaylord Palms and we can go with him. I am pretty excited. He will be doing conference stuff during the day - so I will be on my own with the kids. I am wondering if anyone has stayed here with kids and what the experience has been.

I am going this weekend so I can tell you then..I bid an insane rate on Priceline and got it!

I was there on a business trip, without the kids. The bus service isn't as good as WDW, but it is free. The rooms were very clean and nice. They have some shops inside, and the outdoor pool is very nice. They have added to the pools since I stayed there. The toiletries were a good quality.

I've spent many weeks on business at that hotel. It's a nice hotel, very clean, and the staff is very attending. Lots to do inside the hotel, and of course Disney very close by. The buses, as mentioned above, aren't very great, but a taxi/car is very inexpensive (say $10-$15) each way to WDW, and certainly a lot more convenient. Or they have a Hertz right on property. Overall, a great Orlando property.

Thank you all! I am looking forward to it! My husband will be in classes all day and I will be on my own with a 9 year old and (then) 17 month old twins.

I don't take the twins out much on my own (hardly ever) - so I am hoping for enough to do for the boy without him climbing the walls.

We will also have our car - so transportation shouldn't be an issue. Is there a parking fee?

there is a parking fee of $14/day and a "resort" fee of $15/day. That is suppose to cover the newspapers, "free" internet, buses to Disney, etc. With the price I paid, even those fees don't make the rate more than what I was offered for a Value. I have my own car and parking is free at Disney because I am a Passholder, so works for me!

AMAZING!!!!

We have never stayed off property before..we have only stayed at Disney Deluxe..well, I was blown AWAY by Gaylord Palms..My daughter said she felt like the president when we walked in

I paid for a room upgrade to the Everglades Atrium view ($25/night +) and got a newly renovated room (9073) around the corner from the elevator in the main atrium. I can't say enough about this hotel. The main pool was closed for renovations, but the S Beach Pool was very large and they had inflatable slides for kids to play on too.

I did end up paying $20 to valet because, I decided for the extra $7/day, it was worth it to have the car sitting waiting for me when I came downstairs.

On Saturday, after our room was cleaned, they forgot to replace our water bottles..I called the "service button" and they sent up FOUR bottles right away!

At the end of the day, with the priceline price, upgrade, valet and resort fees, I still paid less than I could have at a Disney Deluxe.

I did not use the hotel buses because I have free parking as a Passholder but I saw the schedule and they run about every hour to MK..from there, you can go anywhere inside WDW on their buses.

I will be staying at this property again if I can get a deal!
