Gaylord Palms reviews anyone?

I stayed for 2 nights at the end of a trip when I couldn't get in at any of the DVC resorts. The resort is huge! Rooms were nice and clean, the fridge and computer with internet were a bonus. I didn't like the convention that was going on at the resort, the people were rude/drunk and took over the pool and hot tub in the evening. I would stay again if I needed an off-site option.

we stayed there for a couple of days last year at Christmas time after leaving Disney. Yes, it is a gigantic hotel. It is unbelievable how big it is. I think the rooms come in 4 categories. We got rooms on Priceline and they put us in the Key West section. It felt like a holiday inn. The plus was the fact that your $10 resort fee included 2 bottles of water and internet daily. Parking was an additional $8, I think. So you're paying an additional $18 on top of your room rate.

Other sections they have are St. Augustine -very nice decor, the atrium, and the fourth section I can't remember. You really feel like you're walking into different areas of Florida. The atrium is wonderful (and huge.) They also have a huge convention center. Did I say the place was huge? :lmao:

Nice place but it's a convention center so lots of adults all over the place. Restaurants very expensive and upscale. Beautiful atrium inside the building. a lot of rooms require very long walks to get to. i stayed there as recent as early September. Our internet connection was very slow. Parking is now $12.00 per day and resort fee is $15.00 plus tax each day. You get 2 bottles of water, paper and free internet for it. It is out in the middle of nowhere. Right down the block is I-192 with lots of restaurants and food store.

The place is huge and No Disney feel if that is what you are looking for. We have blogged on this place in some other posts recently

I can't comment on the resort because I have never stayed there. We are going to stay there next December for a few nights. The resort looks beautiful! They are doing a tuck in service this holiday season where Ms. Clause comes and reads a bedtime story and tucks your children in at bedtime. They also have a gingerbread experience where your child can decorate a gingerbread house with a pastry chef (for a fee). I hope they continue to do this during next holiday season. Can anyone comment on this resort during Christmas time?
