We stayed there for New Year's last year, not by choice. We stayed there as part of the package we were on for the Capitol One Bowl game. It is a very nice, upscale resort with multiple dining options. Rooms and the entire facility were very nice and clean. As others have said, it is an adult/ convention type resort not really geared toward kids.
They do have a shuttle bus which we were able to use to get back to the resort at night, but it was not much help to us going to the parks in the morning. We made calls and sent e-mails trying to get info on the bus situation before we left. All they would tell us was that they had bus service to the parks. They have ONE bus that picks up at the Gaylord Palms and runs a loop to all four parks then back to the Palms. I could be wrong, but I remember the order as being Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom was definitely last. I think the first shuttle picked up at 8:00. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes for the entire loop. So it was impossible to get to breakfast ADRs or park rope drops using the bus. The other thing to remember is that at MK, the drop off is at the TTC so you still had to ride the monorail or boat to MK. So we took a taxi each morning which was $10-15, and took about 10-15 minutes. They gave us a printed schedule of the bus pick-up times at each stop for the day. We planned our park departure times to catch the bus back to the resort.
It is a very nice resort if you are planning on spending time there to relax and enjoy the amenities. If you are like us and plan on spending most of your time at the parks and eating on property, there are much better options.
