Hi All-
I would like any information or review on the Gaylord Palms Resort if you have stayed there. Cleanliness, pool, cont. breakfast ? transportation to Disney Parks.....
Thanks for any help !

This is an upscale hotel. They don't have continental breakfast here. It is a large and spectacular place. The rooms have been very clean and comfortable. The Octopus pool looks fun for kids and the "quiet" South beach pool is nice though I thought it was a bit noisy. I didn't go in the water so can't say what the temps were like. Service has been very good. There isn't any inexpensive quick food places here. I always have a rental so don't know what their transport is like.

This is really more of an adult hotel/convention center. it is very big and very fancy. It does not have a "kid feel" to it at all. And the restaurants are all very upscale and expensive.$$$$$$ You will have to go offsite to the main drag for the chain type of restaurants. And they do charge $12.00 per day to park your car. i had a rental car so i do not know how the disney transportation is.

But the place is very nice. If you have kids, there are other more kid friendly resorts to pick from. Try the big Marriotts or Sheraton Vistana complex.

We stayed there for New Year's last year, not by choice. We stayed there as part of the package we were on for the Capitol One Bowl game. It is a very nice, upscale resort with multiple dining options. Rooms and the entire facility were very nice and clean. As others have said, it is an adult/ convention type resort not really geared toward kids.

They do have a shuttle bus which we were able to use to get back to the resort at night, but it was not much help to us going to the parks in the morning. We made calls and sent e-mails trying to get info on the bus situation before we left. All they would tell us was that they had bus service to the parks. They have ONE bus that picks up at the Gaylord Palms and runs a loop to all four parks then back to the Palms. I could be wrong, but I remember the order as being Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, EPCOT, and Magic Kingdom was definitely last. I think the first shuttle picked up at 8:00. It took about an hour and fifteen minutes for the entire loop. So it was impossible to get to breakfast ADRs or park rope drops using the bus. The other thing to remember is that at MK, the drop off is at the TTC so you still had to ride the monorail or boat to MK. So we took a taxi each morning which was $10-15, and took about 10-15 minutes. They gave us a printed schedule of the bus pick-up times at each stop for the day. We planned our park departure times to catch the bus back to the resort.

It is a very nice resort if you are planning on spending time there to relax and enjoy the amenities. If you are like us and plan on spending most of your time at the parks and eating on property, there are much better options.

I found out last week that my employer has a convention in July 09 & this will be the hotel. Can anyone else confirm the post directly above about the shuttle service? How about shuttle service to Sea World or Universal? Any help is appreciated.
