We spent three nights last week at the Gaylord for a convention, I'll try to answer those questions out there.

We stayed in St. Augistine, floor 2, parking lot view. We had reserved a king room, but none were available at check-in. There was a lot of traffic, but no noise outside our window. The room had 2 queens, desk and chair, fridge(restocked with water and juice daily), 27" TV, 2 sinks, and a separate toilet and tub area. I saw an Emerald Bay room on the 7th floor, exactly the same except for no tub, just a shower. They had a pool view with the appearance of a balcony, but the windows didn't open.

The resort was beautiful. There was a zero entry kids pool with a sand box area, squirting seahorses, and an octapus slide. The adult pool (18+) was nice and quiet. Drink service was good at both pools. The atrium had shops and garden areas, with walking paths in many directions. They have fish, turtles, and gators in the ponds.

We ate in none of the restaurants, as we were fed 3 meals a day at the convention. You can only smoke at the pool bar, not at any inside restaurants.

The staff was wonderful! Every staff member greeted us as they walked by, and called me by name on the phone. We had a wonderful stay and would gladly do it again if the price was right.

I wish that I could win this resort for the price that comes up on priceline. Sounds like you had a wonderful convention and trip.

Welcome home! I'll be staying at GP next month, and I cannot wait! How did you like the hotel's location? Is it easy to find? Any suggestions on room requests?

Thanks!

I drove by GP several times last week. The place is huge! It looks wonderful from the outside. Did you get noise from I4? I wondered since it's right off the highway.

California Dreaming, if you're coming down I4, you can't miss the place. It's right near the 192 exit. I guess you'd take the Osceola Parkway exit to get to it. If not, you can get off on 192 East, go left and turn left between Walgreens and Logan's Roadhouse. That's the tail end of International Dr South. To get to the parks, just hop on Osceola and head west!

ONe of my favorite offsite hotels. Simply gorgeous. And I am thrilled that DH has a conference there next May. Can you say tag along?

California,

We took 417 straight from the airport there. Remember the tolls, $2.75 I think. You'll see it from the exit ramp, yes exit #3, take a right and your home. There's a Super Target at exit 11 that we stopped at.
We were on floor 2 facing the main entrance and parking lot, maybe 30 feet from the valets. We could see Osceola Pkwy and heard no traffic, voices or car doors. I was shocked at the sound proofing. I was in a room on the 7th floor of Emerald Bay, with a pool view and no noise either.
All the wings are connected by the atrium, so not long walk to any shops or restaurants. The Everglades are closest to the adults only pool, spa, and workout room, Emerald Bay is closest to the kids pool and arcade, St Augustine is closest to the front desk, and I'm sure Key West is close to something??? The inside rooms seemed to all have a balcony, with 2 chairs, overlooking the atrium. At a seminar it was said that they had something like 1400 rooms, 500 and some are suites. Maybe try for an upgrade. The day we checked in, the valet stated "over 600 checkins today", so no free upgrade. They wanted $50 per night extra, which didn't sound that bad, but we didn't take it. I hope this helps!
