Sorry for the non-Disney topic, but I was wondering any of you have gone to see ICE at Gaylord Palms and used your camera.

The ICE websites boast that it is 9° while my D40 manual states an operating temperature between +32° and 104°F.

Right now I am leaning against taking it in, but I really want to. I guess I could always put the camera in my coat or wrap it in a towel to keep it warmer.

Any ideas, tips?

I did this on our last trip with my Rebel xti. Just keep it in your coat until you are ready to take pictures. We got wonderful pictures of the displays. No problems whatsoever. You will have a great experience.:thumbsup2

I don't think that you'll have any problem. I've gone out shooting in 10-20 degree temps plenty of times with no trouble. The LCD display gets a bit dodgy and untrustworthy, but everything else seems to work OK.

One cautionary note is that batteries don't do well in cold. You'll get a lot less juice than you are accustomed to. Go in with a fully charged battery. If it starts pooping out on you, take the battery out of the camera and stick it under your armpit for a bit to warm it up. Seriously. That's better than your mouth or your, well, never mind.

I went last week with my D70S and had no problems with the cold. Just made sure my battery was fully charged.
