Recently booked Gaylord Palms for $75 a night. I've read reviews and am not sure what to think. I do know that we have to pay a resort fee as well as parking. Is this a good deal, or could I have gotten a better deal at a different resort?

I've never been to Disney before, so this is all new to me!

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Well, the way I look at is the rooms go for $140+ normally plus the other fees added on top. So that much off, even if you add the fees in, it's still a great deal. It's a beautiful resort.

Thanks for the info! I've seen videos and pics of the resort, but I've done that before and thought places were gorgeous but turned out to be horrible! It's glad to know that this will live up to the standards they set!

I've enver stayed thre, but we ate there once and my sister stayed there. She is a very light sleeper, and there happened to be noisy guests inthe atrium that night. The next night they moved to a room off the atrium and found it much quieter. I'm guessing at the budget price, that you DON'T have an atrium room; as they are more expensive.

The food was good, but like most convention resorts, not particularly inexpensive for what you get.

The pool is really neat looking (didn't try it, just looked), and the indoor atrium is kind of neat to see.

Also - in December, they have an ice show that's supposed to be really neat.

Can't go wrong with a Gaylord property. "Ice" and all the decorations done for the holiday are spectacular. Enjoy!!

You will absolutely LOVE Gaylord Palms!! I do not know how to post photos, but have some from my visit there. The resort itself is worthy a day to relax, check out all the stuff there. They have an alligator feeding time, the atrium is fantastic, and the themed pool is great too. It is divided up in four themed areas (I think) and I've stayed at many high end hotels and Gaylord is by far my favorite! You got a great deal! The poster who said the rooms are normally a little less than $150 a night was right for one of their discounted options that can come as a special. When I stayed for a conference in 2006, the discounted conference price was $139. Conferences get really great discounts, so your $75 + Resort fees is a wonderful deal! I'd take it in a heart beat for my upcoming trip in November.

If you don't mind my asking, could you tell me where you were able to get that price? Thanks a million.

$75 per night with resort fee and parking is still cheaper than any time we have stayed there. The resort is spectacular..deluxe and wonderful. You are going to love it.

I got the rate at Priceline. I put in my own bid and picked a resort, and that's what I got. I do have to pay the extras on top of it, but after parking and the resort fee, and all taxes, the total will be like $120 a night!

Thanks to everyone for your input! I'm so excited now for the trip!! I wish we were staying longer! LOL
