...damned good, aren't they?

We went to a "trunk show" of designer frames at our eye Doctor's this evening. He and the majority of his staff are family. We support him because he's first, an excellent doc, but second because he is family.

He had a beautiful reception like show. The frames were incredible. Wine, champagne, cheese, fruit, chicken wings (uuummm ok! LOL) cookies, chips... very nice.

We both had a great time trying on silly ones, gorgeous ones, BLIIIIIING ones, all sorts. The staff were there and were very open about what looked good and what didn't. At one point the manager of the shop turned to my wife and said, "OOOOOH! You're wife's a Ziggy girl!"

Can I tell you how damn good it felt to be in a place where WE were the majority and it was perfectly fine to have someone say that?

There were other non-gay people there, but they knew their place.

Anyway, the "boys" were right. We chose the frames they picked out!

You just reminded me that DH thinks our new eye Dr. is family. I need to make an appt. to check him out, I mean, have my eyes checked out.

What is it about eye doctors.....? There are 2 down the street from me who are "family". And there's a glasses place a few miles away that has some pretty funky frames that has mostly gay/lesbian employees. (I think they also advertise in the gay rags, even though they're a national chain.)

hmmm, I have been with the same eye doc for about 15 years now, and I could have swore he was part of your family........but then about a year or so ago, he pulled out a pic of his new baby, and he told me he got married, he is in his forties........but now come to think of it, silly me did the assumption, but he could have married same sex......will have to investigate further,
he is totally cool, has great frames, and will get any frame you want if he doesn't have it in his shop. I love him
he got my dd the coolest funky vera bradly frames that he didn't have in stock, but she wanted them.....( cool for a little kid )
