I love Gay Days.
I was in Ottawa last year for theirs (I wasn't there for that, I happened to be) and it was awesome. It's great to see so many homosexual couples walking hand in hand, proud of who they are. I couldn't help but smile. I love to see people in love, it's cute =)
I wish they had them here.

And nobody should be 'correcting' things that can't be corrected. They shouldn't be trying to change themselves because people they may know, or don't know think it's gross.

If you think gays can suddenly change the gender they're attracted to, first ask yourself can you change the gender you're attracted to? Does it really affect your life anyway? Has the sky fallen in? No. Does the world stop turning? No. There are far more important issues to waste our time over than the fact that two men or women love each other. If you really do have a problem with it, just think how less crowded heaven will be for your arrival there (or wherever and whatever it is you believe happens after death.)

The thunder is getting bad here so I have to turn off the computer, and I'm leaving on vacation until monday, so before I leave, I just want to say that I think gay marriage should be legalized everywhere, and I will never change my mind on that. It is not a choice, and for those of you who think it is, you really have something to learn, and you probably have never had a person close to you who is gay. Please be accepting of all people, and if you don't like gay marriage, then don't do it.

Sorry, but I need to get my feelings about this out.

a) if it isn't a problem, it doesn't need correct or solving.

b) have you ever read the constitution? "All men created equal"? are gays, therefore not men? They are now subservient enough that you would shake your head at them for being themselves?

c) have you read the news reports about the supposed "gay correction camps" that parents all over the US and the world send their kids to to fix this "problem" of homosexuality. Kids come out of those camps committing suicide because they've been brainwashed to believe that it would be better for them to be dead than gay.

d) I respect the fact that this view is your opinion, but I can't help but challenge ignorange or disgust when I see it. My history teacher remarked today that the handicapped were the last american minority to gain civil equality and I immediately countered with the inequality facing homosexuals today and he conceded the point- and he is not a dumb man.

e) Homosexuals face the same issues today that blacks faced 4 years ago. We're taunted and tormented because of how we were born, a "problem" that we can't "fix" unless we unbirth ourselves. You're born gay the same way you're born black, or asian, or latino, or tall, or skinny, or poor, or whatever. You have no say in it. It just happens. I couldn't suddenly decided that I wanted to be asian, just like I can't suddenly decided I want to be straight.

f) if you're this disgusted with homosexuals, you should move to Iran.

I totally want to move to Canada...or Ogunquit. Ogun is really cool. It's like...a mini san-fran.

there is one country in the world where being gay is punishable by law.
this is also the only country in the world where slavery is still legal.

It's not like they have a choice. They didn't just wake up one morning and say, "hmm, I'm really tired of being straight. Why don't I be gay now and start liking other girls instead?" And even if it was a choice, which I fully believe it isn't, we in the US cannot discriminate against choices. There is a choice of religion and laws protect discrimination against religion, so sexuality, whether it is a choice or not, should have laws to protect it just like religion and people with different religions deserve equal treatment, so why shouldn't people with different sexual preferences?

Ahh, thanks! I didn't wake up one morning and go "Hey, I'll have a crush on my friend Jake today", and then the next morning go "Nahh I think I'll have a crush on my friend Alyssa!" (True story, by the way...the names...) You can't just CHOOSE it!

There is no reason why religion effects being in love. I say if you love someone, you love someone. Who's to tell me it's right or wrong? Supporting gay marriage isn't about what the Bible says or what God says. It's simply about being a decent human being. Supporting gay marriage and supporting LOVE is being a decent human being. That's all it is.
