Gay friendly?

Disney is going to be welcoming to people of all sexual orientation. It will depend on what country you will be visiting. There are some countries where public displays of affection are frowned upon. Especially between members of the same sex. As part of a tour group you are in a bit of a Disney bubble but at the same time when in a foreign country its best to try to abide by the laws and customs of that country. I recently travelled to the middle east and everything I read advised to avoid PDAs

thanks, lizabu. We are not strangers to international travel, so i understand being sensitive to different cultures and stuff. We have also been to Disney world many times, so I know they are friendly. I was mostly concerned about the disney family tour vacation experience.

My partner and I are considering an Adventures by Disney vacay. We do not have children. Are these vacations friendly for a gay couple?

The owner of this site is gay and loves ABD. He speaks about it all the time on the podcast. He and his partner has been on at least 5 of these trips and he consistently raves about them.

well, zorro, that's not helpful...

Jeez, it figures that was the first response to your question.

On our previous ABD, we were all like a family by the end of the trip. I think you will see that many other people say the same thing. And we all got along, and accepted and helped out when one family was having issues. So, I think that you will find the types of people who go on ABD's to be generally very friendly and open.

My partner and I have done several AbDs and have loved each of them! We, along with all the diverse travelers, were greeted warmly and treated with the utmost care and dignity as any couple would. In fact, we have made many lifelong friends from these experiences! Of course you may run into some less accepting people while traveling, but I suppose that is the world we live in, right?

To say AbD is gay friendly is an understatement. We actually got engaged on our last Adventure. With above and beyond assistance by our Guides, a most magical and VIP moment was arranged by my now future husband for him to pop the question! We just booked our next trip - our honeymoon to Greece with AbD - we couldn't think of a more perfect company to travel with!

I hope you consider taking one of the trips, Srr :)

We have done 2 ABD trips as a gay couple and have traveled with other gay couples on both trips. Not an issue at all, everyone on both trips were very inclusive. We got married in March of 2010 and are going on the May 25 Greece trip to celebrate 25 years of being a couple and 2 years of being married.
