I'm trying to choose a weekend in September to visit. Does the Gay Days celebration typically make the park more crowded?

Yes, it gets extremely crowded for Gay Days

Higher crowds. You'll probably want to avoid Labor Day weekend as well, though post-COVID I'm not as familiar with crowd patterns. If you go the last week of September you'll have Halloween stuff up if that matters to your group. Watch for when DCA may close early due to Halloween parties.

Yes, approximately Gay Days brings in 30,000 people!

In the past it has been packed, but since they aren't back to max capacity yet and Gay Days participants still have to have a reservation same as everyone else, it might not be as bad this year. It's really hard to tell.
