I just found out we will be there during Gay Days. I'm not bothered by the fact that it's Gay Days at all. However, I'm wondering how much more crowded this makes the parks? Any experience with this time? We will be there May 29 - June 5.

We were there last summer during Gay Days. They publish a schedule of parks where they are planning on being each day. We did our best to avoid those parks for crowd reasons. We didn't have any problems with crowds using this approach.

I had the same experience last year. I avoided the parks when the special events were planned there and avoided the crowds---same as I would do if any other large group had a special gathering in a certain park. This event did not affect my trip at all. Go and have a great time.

We were at GD2006. Just go to another part than the park of the day and you will be find the crowds managable. Now the weather can get hot.

There are two Gay Days events at the same time, www.gaydays.com and www.gayday.com

Both of them schedule different parks for different days. As long as you avoid the designated parks those days, you won't run into major crowds. However, going to the MK on the designated Saturday is truly a blast. Most of the crowds leave the park after the afternoon parade to get some rest before the night parties.

We have been during the first week of June on the last 3 years and the first year we avoided the designated park of the day. Then in 2005 and 2006 we went to the parks we wanted to on the days we wanted to and didn't notice a real change in the crowd levels. I think because so many people try avoiding the designated park of the day, it balances out. Its going to be crowded no matter what park you choose, I think its more important to be worried about the heat.

Because of heavy cowds, I would avoind the Maic Kingdom on Saturday during the event...it just adds to the normal heavy Saturday crowd. Other than that, I doubt you'll have any big crowd problems, whether you avoid the "park of the day" or not.

And no matter what parks you choose, I urge you to make dining ADRs, even for lunch...any gathering or convention combined with the general dining plan rush can made getting into a sit-down venue a challenge.
