I was recently talking to my brother about the trip my family is planning for 2011 to WDW... it turns out we are going to be there during Gay Days. We are much more socially liberal than his family, and have no issues with this... but his comment about how he would never go that week got me to thinking:

Does having the GLBT crowd there make the park more or less crowded?

Oh, and will you be offended if my wife and I hold hands? (yes that 2nd part is a joke!)

Its the first week of June, so the parks are getting busy with the summer crowds.

Yes, Gay Days brings in thousands of visitors, but the events are so spread out anymore it really doesnt impact things much. You can always get on the Gay Days website to find out which park is the official park of every day and plan accordingly...

The one exception? Saturday at the Magic Kingdom. It is very crowded!!!!

But, if your family is of the liberal sort, it is worth the trip over just to witness the park on that day! It's a very magical day!

We did not think it was crowded at all. The weather still wasn't too awful hot and the wait times were minimal. We left on Friday so you will have to take Orlando Mikes world regarding Saturday. But the week leading up to Saturday was great and I would go back at the time in a minute.

We are a family on the liberal side (DD's best friend has 2 moms and we love them like our own family) but we didn't really notice any difference while at the World :confused3.

This was our first year to go for Gay Days - we were at WDW June 4-19. We usually go the first 2 weeks of August. The first week I think was less crowded than August, the second week was every bit as crowded as any other time we have gone. There were a couple of days where the crowds were just squirrelly - one morning MK was PACKED, and 2 days later it was fine. Which makes no sense. :confused3
