I have no idea for sure when this is, but I thought I read somewhere October?
we might be in DL in the fall, and just wondered if we will be there during gay days :)
I would imagine there is one day or maybe two that magic kingdom is very crowded?

oh how cool!!! I didn't realize the Halloween stuff would be in full force then too! what is HM and SM? I am guessing haunted mansion? and..........

Haunted Mansion has the Nightmare before Christmas overlay and Space Mountain now has a Ghost Galaxy overlay each year. Last year was such a success with those, plus the new fireworks Halloween Screams hosted by Jack Skellington, which Zero flies over the castle rather then Tinkerbell. Of course there's all the decorations and Halloween parade.

I think it's the perfect time for Gay Days, since it IS the Gay High Holiday.

last year was the first time I attended. I had a blast. It was a little low key compared to WDW from what I have been told, but since I had nothing to compare it to, I thought it was great.

We're excited. We've even figured out a different Red shirt to make for each day we'll be at the parks. DL from what I heard IS very low key which is something we like. Although we do want to experience it at WDW some year.

Me and hubby went two years ago during Gay Days at D-Land and loved it! It was very nice and the people were great. I would love to go to the one at WDW.

We could potentially attend Gay Days at DL.

Is there anything more detailed than, "low key?" :)

We've done WDW a number of times, and enjoyed just simply being amidst the throng of red...

So, what are some of the specifics that go on during Gay Days at Disneyland, please?

I'm just going by all the stuff I've read and close friends I've talked to, so take it for what it's worth.:rotfl: But, from what I know there aren't tons of circuit parties, dances, after hours, performers etc. like there are at WDW. It's simply Saturday at DL and Sunday at DCA, although I'm sure people park hop both days since it's just hop skip and a jump away from one another.

People are usually in the parks that Friday as well. One of the hotels has an area set up with lots of sponsers/booths. There's usually a meet and greet at the Grand Californian one night I think. Friends said that the park is full of red shirts and the atmosphere is great, although it's not a packed madhouse. They had a great time and now that they've adopted Bruno (don't ask about the name), they plan on going every year.

Hopefully others who have actually gone can give details.

oh this sounds like a lot of fun! Zero flying over the castle!!!! love it!
the Gay High Holiday :rotfl2::thumbsup2
I am not sure if we will be there at that time or not..........my dh is planning a trip to the grand canyon in the fall, and one of my geography oriented kids pointed out we won't be "all that far" from Disneyland, and why don't we "just go over"...........LOL......they think just like mommy!!!

Are you all planning on doing the Mule trek to the bottom or river rafting/camping in the canyon while you're there? We did that one time and had so much fun. Otherwise, it's like visiting Mount Rushmore. You can stand and stare at it for a while, then I'm ready to do something else. :rotfl:

People park hop between the two all weekend long. This might have a lot to do that DCA serves alcohol. :)

my DH wants to go to the bottom to camp for a night, but honestly I am more of a stay back at the resort kind of gal enjoying the spa, will be here when you get back honey!:rotfl:
so yep, I can look at it for a bit, and then I will be ready to move on! LOL

Ya, what he said!

I was just going off events and stories I have heard from WDW. there is a nightly event on Friday and Saturday. Both held at downtown Disney, which of course if right outside the park.

There is plenty of RED to see and be seen by. The lunch at the Hungry Bear draws a bearish crowd.

The cruise on the Mark Twain is great as the whole boat is filled with Red Shirt wearing guys have a gay ole time and those people that did not know it is Gay Days are really confused as the party goes sailing by.

I am guessing the parade is about the same with a sea of red.

There seems to be something for everyone. And everything is nicely compacted to allow you to enjoy what you want and do your thing at other times.

You can find the schedule of events at this website:

DLR also has a special Halloween Haunted Tour in the late afternoon. I took it the Friday before Gay Days Anaheim and had a great time. The tour includes priority access to Tower of Terror, Haunted Mansion, Big Thunder Railroad, and Space Mountain, plus special seating for the fireworks show. You do not pay for park admission, and you can stay in the park after the fireworks! :) There are discounts, if you are AP holder, AAA member, and Disney Visa cardholder.

We went to both Orlando and Anaheim last year and had a blast! Doing both again this year. In Anaheim I noticed a lot more of the boys were not wearing red :-( but there were still plenty that did

We've actually now convinced one of Steven's oldest and dearest friends to go and also a good friend of ours and his new partner. His partner use to work at WDW so he's ALL for going to DL. Our friend on the other hand doesn't "get it" when we talk about DL, but I have a feeling we'll be able to change his mind. Also will be able to take them all to Club 33 on our first night, which should be pretty special for all of them.

I know it's 7 months away, but I'm already excited about it. First time for Gay Days and first time to go during Halloween.
