Hello All! First and foremost this post by no means is an attack on lifestyle or personal beliefs. I will be traveling down during this week and most of my itinerary does not line up with the itinerary for Gay Days, however I will be in MK the same day as the Saturday Meetup. From my previous research, I've gotten conflicting reports saying its one of the most busiest days to it does not really affect the overall crowdedness of the park. I was just hoping to get some legitimate feedback on how I should anticipate crowds and any tips for conquering the park in an effective manner that day! Thank You!

I have no idea about this day specifically, but to answer your question in general, the most effective method is always to be there before rope drop. Most people do not want to get up early and the first hour or so that the park is open will be the least crowded of the day.

I went back in 2012 the first 10 days of June, and while I am gay, I did not participate in "Gay Days", and just did a solo trip and I didn't notice any huge uptick in crowds or a huge influx of "red shirts" in any of the parks I visited. It's a relatively good time to go to Disney, actually, in terms of crowds. There are better weeks, of course, but it's not insane or anything.

Saturday is always the worst day of the week to go to MK. It's going to be a little bit busier than it normally would, but not that much.

Agree with @Alesia above. I've been to the MK on that day several times and its really not an issue.

Crowds are really not a huge issue, especially as the day grows later. They mostly clear out in the evening for their nightlife plans.

Gay Days doesn't affect the crowds by a considerable margin. Like others have said, Saturday is busy as it is.

We have been there many times during gay Days. The only time I noticed a miserable crowd was an MK night- it was also Star Wars Weekend though.

We were in the park last year for MK Gay Day. It was definitely busy but that is probably just because Saturdays are really busy for MK (we are starting our parks, with MK, on Sunday 6/4 instead this year). I did notice quite a few red shirt groups, which I think is an indicator for their groups. But again, it was probably just MK Saturday busy.

My experience, the best way to plan for any trip to disney is assume it's going to be the worst crowd you've ever heard of. Plan lite with lots of room to add more and you'll be happy. If you plan heavy and the crowd gets in the way, then you'll be miserable. It doesnt' matter if it's gay days, easter, christmas, the resurrection of walt himself or any given wednesday. All days are crowded and if you come in understanding that, you'll be much more happy when it's less of a crowd than you expected and content if it is that miserable crowd because oyu were ready for it...

We were there during Gay Days a few years ago and the only day we noticed a larger crowd was at AK - probably just because it was a smaller park.

We were there a couple years ago on the MK day for Gay Days. I thought it was really busy. Hard to say if it had anything to do with the group (we did see a ton of red shirts) or if that's just typical for early June. I would go again, but would probably try to schedule opposite their park days, just as I would for any other larger group attending the parks.

Well, I try to avoid MK on Saturdays...all year long!!!! That's the best piece of advice I can give! Gay Days really doesn't impact WDW crowds much at all. In fact, you probably wouldn't even notice it if you didn't know it was happening.

Saturday is going to be a bit busy because it's Saturday at MK.

The only thing you might notice otherwise in terms of "crowds" is a large amount of people wearing red shirts.

Interesting - I don't know exact square footage but Animal Kingdom always feels the largest to me, after Epcot. MK and HS are smaller by far.

The only thing I really noticed was the insane lines for Country Bear Jamboree.

I have been on even the busiest of days and providing you start early and take advantage of Fastpass you should be OK. I am also always prepared to skip a ride if the line is too long :-)

Going to echo others. I happened to be at Disney before during Gay Days and didn't really notice any difference in crowds. Saturday in MK will be busy regardless and I don't think Gay Days will significantly alter the wait times of anything.
