This happened to me....

People are like lemmings (or Sheep) we all follow the line in front.... When you walk into the BTM line as you approach the covered area the line splits into 2.... take the left hand line, Europeans naturally merge to the right and everyone follows everyone else, I skipped almost all of the indoor line by choose the left hand side- the right was backed right up - it was actually uncomfortable as everyone was stating at us as we walked pass the right hand line. - The FP line also merges with the right hand line. some people even jumped into our line when they worked out what was going on.

A CM told me they normally put a bin to block the left hand line if its out of action, if its not ... do the walk of shame like we did LOL.

I agree, theres been a couple of times we have went to queue and NOONE was using the left hand rails...... until we got there lol We skipped almost 3/4 of the queue by choosing that lane.

Also another tip - if you want speed, go to the BACK of the train as it feels much faster contrary to popular belief. The front is very slow over the hills and bumps etc.

Yes, this is a great tip! I'd heard about myself a while ago and have used it with great success. I also told DH the same thing when he went on BTM last week and was very impressed and how much time he saved!

yep, i always use the left hand lane at BTM (if we're not using fastpass).

Ha! I remember this very well, doing it in 2006 ...
A woman in the right line, noticed that we were actually going to pass her, and she looked very angry at us, and putted her arm out, so we couldn't get passed :scared1: haha, not my fault she chose the wrong line :p

Done the same quite often, must admit we got some "dagger stares" as we walked past pretty much everyone!

Also, if you get the chance, ride BTM when it's DARK!!! Completely different ride altogether!

Only ridden it once, every time we have been it's either been closed for expected maintenance or broken down.
It's great but it's unreliable.

I noticed the same thing last week when I was there, by being stood in the wrong line and seeing everyone sailing past me. From then on I always went left. Although the last time we rode it before leaving it didn't make any difference, as the they were merging both lanes just before the Fastpass entrance and the right one was being used purely for Fastpass.

But, considering we rode about 6 times between us all, it saved heaps of time :thumbsup2
