Gavin's relaxing Wish Trip Report

Wow! I blink for a minute and you are on day 3. I love all of the pictures. The one with Goofy says it all. You also have amazing detailed pictures of GKTW. Great updates!:banana::banana:

Your children are beautiful.

So sorry Gavin had trouble on the plane, that had to be very stimulating for him.

I love the GKTW pictures, it looks like such a beautiful place.

It was a horrible shame about the Seaworld trainer, but I am glad you got to meet the dolphins.

I can't understand someone volunteering at GKTW then talking to Gavin that way, I hope you said something to someone about it.

Awww, how wonderful was that Santa!! I am so happy that he took the time to make Gavin comfortable. The pictures with Santa are great!

I love the fountain picture with Amanda and Piper, that was so nice that someone took a picture for you.

It is amazing all the things you can do at GKTW, that it such a wonderful place.

I am really enjoying your trip report and can't wait to read more!

Hooray..I love the update! Yanno..that's a pretty good looking group of people sitting on that fountain! ;) I'm in love with the village, and think I will be for the rest of my life. You got an awesome pic of the front gate!

Oh Jennifer...First I was angry reading about the volunteer!! Now I have tears in my eyes reading about Santa.....pure MAGIC. I am so happy that happened for you guys.:goodvibes

Hurray for meeting up with friends! Cute pic of (most of) you. Funny about the tushies.

Sounds like Gavin really needed the extra sleep time. I love that he cared about the color of the house, not just us OCD moms. :lmao:

Great pics again!!!

It was so nice being able to meet a few of the Disers. I liked the orange house. It made it definetley not an ordinary house. :)

Thanks, the Santa was definetley one highlight of our trip. He was great.

So where were we. Aw yes, were headed to Magic Kingdom :cool1: Make A Wish had set up a visit to the Pirate League for 10:30. We were running let as is usual for this trip. You have to take a ferry to get into Magic Kingdom

DisneyWishtrip2010209.jpg

We make it into the park and head straight for the Pirate League. It's now almost 12:30. Well 2 hours late will they still see us? Of course, they are very nice and get us right in.
DisneyWishtrip2010218.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010221.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010224.jpg

We all received our pirate names
Kia-Angel Ropewalker
Me-Joan Starcastle
Dh-James Edgebellows
Gavin-John Truesilver
Caiden-Will Goalflint
They call you by your pirate name the whole time your there and we were horrible pirates who kept forgetting who was who. :lmao:
Then it's off to makeover time
DisneyWishtrip2010251.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010244.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010237.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010250.jpg

After being all made over you have to recite the Pirate oath which in the end is quite the mouth full. It's all pretty cute. They take you into the secret room where you get a pic and a little pirate treasure. The girls got there nail polish and lipstick along with some stick on tattoos. Everybody got a sword, eye patch and a pirate booty bag. We had fun doing it. So we go out to get our pics and they say Ok that will be $285!! :scared1: What but wait Make A wish was suppossed to have paid for it. They say no they just put a reservation in. Now yes this was a fun experience but if we had known we had to pay for it Dh and I would not have done it. Just a word to the wise if you participate in this PLEASE get some high powered make up remover. I think it took the next 3 days to completley get it off the boys, especially right around the eyes where you cant scrubb.
So up next we rode Aladdin's Magic carpet which was a fun ride but a little boring for my adrenaline junkies. We saw
DisneyWishtrip2010216.jpg

That's right Aladdin, genie and Jasmine all together and the kids had no interest in seeing them
Then we went on this ride I cant remember the name of
DisneyWishtrip2010254.jpg

and Buzz lightyear, we all got a kick out of this one
DisneyWishtrip2010257.jpg

Dh, Kia and Caiden all headed to Space Mountain and Gavin and I tried on hats
DisneyWishtrip2010260.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010261.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010262.jpg

This was a long wait for Space Mountain, they even took our Gac and we still waited for about 40 minutes. By the time they came out Gavin was getting really tired so we head to the Wish Lounge! The woman at the first aid let us in and was really nice. They had water and juice in a little fridge and big fluffy pillows for the ground. A TV and games. We spent a good 45 minutes in here relaxing.
DisneyWishtrip2010267.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010272.jpg

and some very pretty paintings on the wall. I love the castle one.
DisneyWishtrip2010269.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010270.jpg

We head back out and its getting dark, we take a spin on Dumbo and It's a small world and grab a bite to eat at Casey's. Yummy hot dogs and then settle in for the fireworks.
DisneyWishtrip2010274.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010307.jpg

For some reason I didnt get really any pics from the show but It was amazing. We had a really nice day.

Up next: Day 4 Do we make out of the village??

I love your pirate makeover. Gavin got the same design that Tyler did. Just FYI- baby wipes take the make-up right off without any scrubbing. I am not sure what magic power is in them, but it is something!

Your family was able to do a lot at MK. Everyone looked like they had a great time! :yay:

I loved the eye's design. We did try baby wipes and it took Gain's off except just a little but that skeleton Caiden got the makeup was soo thick. Most of it came of with the wipes but the black around his eyes was horrible. He looked like he had eye liner on for days :rotfl:

The pirate makeovers are great, but Make a Wish should have told you they only made the reservation and you would have to pay for it. I would have been shocked at the $285 price when I thought it was taken care of.

So we are already onto day 4. Wow does the time past by fast. So far we have only been able to do a few hours at the parks a day and that has been to much for Gavin. I think if we ever go back we will have to have enough time to take a day off in between park days. Which is what day 4 is all about. We decide to just hang out around the village and let Gavin relax. His attitude is getting pretty bad from being over stimulated and we all just need a break. Im the first up again and its horseback riding today. It's almost 9:00 and I thought it was over then so as soon as Kia and Caiden were up we ran down the street in their jammies to see the horses. Gavin is a person you just dont wake up before he's ready or you'll regret it. :goodvibes I felt really bad abput him misses them but I also didnt want the other kids to miss out. They were already upset about spending such little time out doing stuff. So we got to the horses and were the only one's there so the kids got to ride around the circle a few times and then got their cowboy hats and certificates. I found out they werent leaving until 11:00. Yay Gavin might be awake by then!

DisneyWishtrip2010312.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010313.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010314.jpg

We get back to the villa and I decide to try to wake Dh up and get to the gingerbread house for breakfast. It's day 4 and we havent made it there yet. So 9:18 I go in and ask him if he wants to go to breakfast. The whole what time is it when do they close conversation takes place. He says Ok so I leave the room. Gavin is up so I get him ready. Back in the room at 9:40 still asleep Ok gingerbread house closes at 10:00. Wake him up again. this time he says just go without him. :sad2: So we all get shoes and coats on and head out.Walk in and it's 10:02 and sadly they have to turn us away. I have to admit I was alittle upset at Dh. Oh well we head over to the ice cream shop and have a quick breakfast of cinnamon rolls and sausage. Oh and Gavin had a cookie's and cream shake. Yummy!
DisneyWishtrip2010319.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010323.jpg

I decide to just go look around and let Dh sleep in some more. So we head to the Amberville train station. On our way there we see the new garden area with Mayor Clayton's house. Such a cute little area.
DisneyWishtrip2010341.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010344.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010345.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010349.jpg

On to the train station where the kids enjoyed driving the remote controlled boats and playing in the arcade and of corse the huge model train.
DisneyWishtrip2010328.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010332.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010337.jpg

Gavin found a piano!! Ever since he was in the hospital for his first long stay he has loved the piano. We spent alot of time in the play room at the hospital so this was perfect for him.
DisneyWishtrip2010336.jpg

The kids want to do mini golf so we decide to go see if daddy is up yet. Nope he's not so the kids decide we have to go swimming. :scared1: Do you have any idea how cold it is! But what the heck let's go for it. I was a little scared butthe water was actually pretty nice. As long as you stayed under it was nice and warm. It was the getting out that was freezing.
DisneyWishtrip2010353.jpg

That first dip in the water
DisneyWishtrip2010355.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010360.jpg

Now Dh finally shows up and gets a pic of me and the kids
DisneyWishtrip2010369.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010376.jpg

Looking superb !!

How great moment you all actually had..............

It's really specious time to spare on trip for anyone from my view..
And thanks for sharing here.

So now that daddy has joined us it's time to go get changed into some clothes and hit the mini golf. It's actually starting to warm up a little so we get to put on some shorts! The mini golf course is really cute. They have all the little surprises turned off but we can still tell where they are and what there supposed to do. I wont spoil it for anyone but the surprises looked like fun.

DisneyWishtrip2010380.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010384.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010385.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010386.jpg

and we found our first lizard! The kids were so excited and tried to catch him but he was to fast. :rotfl:
DisneyWishtrip2010379.jpg

After a fun afternoon we decided to go check out Down town Disney. For those who havent been to Florida this was the only time traffic was a pain. It was Saturday afternoon about 4:00 and apparentley everyone was headed to DTD. We got a little lost but made it there and parked way at the end by Cirque and wanted to hit the Lego store which is way on the other end. Looked at the map and it seemed miles away. We decided we might as well just walk it and see everything. It turned out to be not very far at all. It was a fun area with lots of shops. We made it the lego store and got the required pics and some souveniers for the kids. It was now getting late and we wanted to head back for MAyor Clayton's birthday.

DisneyWishtrip2010388.jpg

Notice the looks on their faces. We were still in shorts and it gets Cold when the sun starts going down so they were freezing and ready to leave.
DisneyWishtrip2010391.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010395.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010396.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010406.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010408.jpg

We make it back to the village and the party has already started! So we head straight for Julie's safari theatre where the fun was. The kids wanted to go in and get their Icee's and sugar sticks

DisneyWishtrip2010412.jpg

while we were in I heard that Mayor Clayton was on his way so we run out in time to sing Happy Birthday! It was really cute with lots of dancing and singing, hula hoops and games. Gavin wanted his face painted but given the fact he still had face paint on from the pirate makeover I talked him out of it.
He did get to meet Mayor Clayton and Miss Merry and wanted to ask him how he fit into his little house but there wasnt enough time.
DisneyWishtrip2010415.jpg

DisneyWishtrip2010417.jpg

Then it was back to the villa and a call to order pizza.Well after the last carousel ride of the night. The pizza was pretty good and 2 was enough to make us full with a few pieces left over.

Wow, Jennifer, you are cooking!!! And I'm glad because I'm so anxious to hear all about it!!! :thumbsup2

So glad you took all the pics of the Village -- I don't think I had ever seen a pic of the pool or minigolf! Did you bring the floaties/balls or are there some there? (Can you tell my packing brain is working overtime!? ;))

And it sounds like a day at the village was just what the family needed -- and was a load of fun to boot! :woohoo: Horseback riding, golf, swimming, lego store, fun & games and a birthday celebration...you might need a "rest day" from the "rest day"!!!

What's the lego store like? I'm sure my kids would like it but I want to be prepared ahead of time....is this something that I'm going to have to keep saying "No you can't buy that" over and over and over???

Keep them coming!!! I'm loving it!!! Assuming AK is next????

So much fun, so far. Even with meltdowns. I absolutely love the picture of Gavin on the carousel. So the pose my son would do (and has done). Can't wait for more!

Thanks, Wow when you put iy like that it really does seem like a packed day but it was so relaxing and Yes just what we needed. The ball and floaties were there but thats all they had 1 ball 1 floatie and a pair of goggles. Luckily we were the only ones brave enough to be in the water that day. The lego store was alot of fun and tons to just look at but typical lego's they were pretty pricey. I let the boys each pick out 1 thing and they were happy.
Yep, tomorrow is AK and HS!!

So much fun, so far. Even with meltdowns. I absolutely love the picture of Gavin on the carousel. So the pose my son would do (and has done). Can't wait for more!

Thanks!! It really was fun. In the middle of it, it seemed kinda stressful but looking back we had loads of fun and Im already trying to talk DH into planning a Disneyland trip. :lmao:

Great "reporting" Jennifer! The pool looked fun, as long as you stayed under water. :lmao: Sorry for that miscommunication with MAW on the Pirate League. I wouldn't have forked it over either, but it doesn't seem that bad if the whole family got to do it. Good tip for future travelers to clarify that stuff though.

Loved the last update!! I can empathize on the being "freezing" part. We were sooooo cold when we went last year!!!!

I love the pics of the kids. They look like they are having so much fun!!!

I teared up reading about Santa too! What a wonderful guy. I am enjoying your TR:lovestruc
