To all

We are considering booking a gty cat 12 room. Can you all please share your experiences/knowledge with this.

We just returned from a Carnival cruise and will do anything to get back to Disney!!

We booked a GTY 12 last year and were upgraded to a cat 10. However we were "upgraded" to what must have been the NOISIEST room on the ship...deck 2 as far aft as you can get. We did have a great time though!!

My coworker just returned from a Carnival cruise...she was disapointed...she had only previously cruised RCCL.

We booked a cat 12 gty...and were upgraded to a cat 8. on deck 7. Loved it. Of course when we were rebooking we went with the cat 8.

BTW....if your a party of 4...you'll for sure get upgraded to at least a cat 11...because NONE of the cat 12 sleep 4...they ONLY sleep 3. We didn't even know that when we booked... but it was a nice suprise.

Hi:

Me and my daughter cruised as a special Mommy/daughter outing for her Christmas present on the Magic in '03. It was my first Disney Cruise.

I do not remember it being particularly noisy accept for sometimes in the morning when doors would slam, or at night as people are coming "home" from activities and going to bed, but I guess you get that on every deck. It was never to the point of being miserable though, because that would definately have stuck in my mind and I would still remember it now.

When I first walked into the room, I was somewhat struck at how small I thought it was, because despite them saying that they have the largest inside cabins in the industry, I have been on 11 other cruises (Carnival and NCL) and Carnival's was definately bigger. That being said, there was so much to do, and my daughter was always in the Oceaneer Club because she loved it, the most time we really spent in the room was at night to sleep and to come and go to change clothes before meals. Bathroom is somewhat smaller than Carnival as well.

If you have a lot of luggage, you may find storage tight, yes you can use under the bed and the closet, but depending on size, that space will get eat up quickly. Since she slept with me instead of the couch bed, I could also put some luggage on that as well, since we didn't have it made up.

We will again cruise in October for her birthday, she doesn't know yet, it's going to be a surprise this time, and my husband will go on this one, so she will have to use the couchbed, so I can let people know how the room felt with these perameters if anyone is interested. Of course that is providing we don't get upgraded, but we didn't the last time, so we might not this time either.

Last October we had a category 12 guarantee and were upgraded to a category 11. We didn't mind not having a view, because we were only in our room to sleep. I'd rather save the money for more cruises and shore excursions, etc. We booked another category 12 guarantee for this October.

We had a 12 GTY for our Feb. cruise and were upgraded to a 9. Even thought we did not spend much time in the room we enjoyed the window. My husband enjoyed it so much that he will only let me book a 9 from now on! But for me, I am fine with doing a 12 GTY and hope for the best with more money in my pocket.

I know you will have a great time no matter what!
