Now we have finally booked our next trip, we are now wondering which hotel to stay in at gatwick as it's a bit of a trek from worcestershire all the way down to Gatwick on the day of the flight. We have previously stayed at the Holiday Inn Povey Cross Road, but we were wondering if there was anywhere cheaper that still offers the on-site parking for the 15 days. Any recommendations welcome.

Also do any of you know the cheapest place to order 14 day flex-tickets from.
Thanks in advance :thewave: :disrocks:

Hi there,

We've booked a family room (for 4 of us) and 15 days inclusive parking at the Ramada Plaza, about 4 miles away from the airport for £135.

How much have they quoted you?? We were quoted £120 for the Europa Hotel, but have not heard very good things about this hotel so decided to spend a bit extra.

What date are you looking for? Also did you see my thread about keith prowse attraction tix? don't know if thats any use to you. :confused3

Have a look at www.holidayextras.co.uk and www.aph.com. They offer a good selection of hotels at Gatwick, and there are prices with parking included.

Our preference is Le Meridien - its not the cheapest (about £150 with parking but it is joined to the North Terminal - we always fly with BA from there. If you book through Holiday Extras, you will also a get a voucher for half price breakfast (£8.50 - and really good value). They will give you the voucher when you check in.

If you're flying from the South Terminal, there is a Hilton attached.

Personally, I always find it a bit of an ordeal getting from an offsite hotel on the morning of the flight. Even when they include a shuttle, with traffic and everything, it can take about 20 mins to get there. Plus the added benefit of being attached to the airport means that you get to use all the airport facilities. It can be a bit isolated off site, and even something as simple as food can be a trek in the car.

As above, I have always stayed at the Le Meridien when I have flown from Gatwick. Literally a two minute walk from the hotel foyer to the North Terminal, and if you ask for an airport view (its only across the road and the hotel is triple glazed) you can watch the aeroplanes. Keeps DD happy for hours. You also have the option of crossing to the terminal to eat or buy snacks etc.

Staying at the Hilton because it's attached to the South Terminal :)

The dates we're looking for are the 14th april for 1 night hotel and 15 days parking. We have been quoted £129.

Just to let u know, holiday extra prices are £129 for renaissance, £159.50 for Hilton, £118 for effingham park, £129 for thistle, £105 for the russ hill, £118 for copthorne and £109 for worth

If you can stay onsite. The benefit of being able to walk to check in is great. Also you can check in really early and then go back to the hotel for breakfast wash etc. So much more relaxing than getting there early and having to mark time for several hours. :goodvibes

I would recommend a B & B called Trumbles (you'll find it on the internet). I stayed there in 2002 and will be again in Sept 05. Sixty pounds for a dble room and breakfast and the taxi to the airport (about 10 mins away). Parking is two pound a day!!! Excellent Value and lovely people.

Roll on Sept 05 :earboy2:

We always use holiday inn express on the squareabout (about 10 mins from airport). Can eat at one of 2 restaurants located on the squareabout & breakfast (continental style) is included in the price.

hi ,all, there is a road with various b and b's we always use called massetts rd.it is in horley very near to the airport.some have full breakfast some have continental most will give you an option of parking and some have free transport to the airport.its very near the town center with a lovely pub which has a wacky warehouse for the kids.the prices are very reasonable and most hotels have websites.just look up massetts road guesthouses.hope this helps. :goodvibes
