So I have to stay the night before my Orlando flight at Gatwick it departs from North terminal (flying with BA). The flight of the night before arrives to North Terminal too at midnight. I was planing on staying at Sofitel but I've seen that Hilton and Yotel are cheaper but in the south Terminal. What do you think?
Is the trasportation from north to south until late?
Or is it worth the splurge at staying at Sofitel and be walking distance?
Also is the reception open 24 hours on Sofitel and Hilton?

The transit between terminals runs 24hours every 6 mins :thumbsup2

I love the Sofitel and would stay there everytime however they have very few family rooms and are usually double the price of the Hilton.

the monorail between the teminals is very frequant and runs as the PP said 24 hours a day. We always stay in the excutive rooms at the hilton with access to the excutive lounge and its wonderful (if there are rooms available on the day we check in we can upgrade to a junior suite for £29 or a King suite for £59) to us this is the real start to our holiday. The Hilton is also easy walking distance to the mononrail so no problems with getting to South terminal quickly. We have stayed in the south terminal hotel and found the rooms too small and claustrophibic and not worth the extra money. All the Hilton rooms have recently been renovated.
Yes the reception is open 24 hours a day. We love staying at Gatwick itself as you then have more choice of restaurants and also M&S for snacks if required.
