Gatwick Departure Lounge

We last used Gatwick south terminal 2 years ago, and due to use again in July.
Wasn't too impressed with the facilities/space last time, have they done any work since then?

Any major issues in clearing security, other advice etc all welcome.

I always thought the departure area at Gatwick South terminal was quite good. Plenty of duty shops, places to eat, chemists, book shops etc.
Never had a problem finding a place to sit either.
