Hi everyone,

does anyone have any tips of finding cheap/reasonable airport-parking prices for Gatwick?

we are going to Orlando in october (can't wait!!!) .. and just been looking at carpark prices, it looks like it's going to cost about £50. does this seem about right!

thank you!

I think you'll find that's quite a good price. I would recommend Goofyish's site as above. It's one of those annoying extra costs you have to add to your budget isn't it.

Another option, and one that we do, is to stay over the night before you flight in a local hotel. As we travel down from the midlands it saves us having an early morning drive down to Gatwick :)

We stay at the Gatwick Hilton because it's so handy for the South Terminal, but there are other on-airport and off-airport hotels that do deals of a nights accommodation plus 15 days parking.

Check on the same ABC site for options :)

Holiday extras or BAA website- you will probably find the prices are exactly the same. If you have a quidco account holiday extras are on there, be aware they charge a credit card fee, BAA do not.

If you are staying overnight some of the local offsite places do very cheap parking - £50 for the accommodation and £2 a night for the car. They also take you to and pick you up from the airport for free. Manor House at Ifley is one place that we used happily.

Can I hijak please - flying with Virgin out of Gatwick in Dec. Would the Hilton be the best location - there are 5 of us including 1 under 2 can I get away with 1 room if I ask for a cot. As someone else says - it is such a pain of an extra cost

thank you for the tips and websites :)

we only live 40 mins from Gatwick (depending on the M25 traffic, of course!) so shouldn't need a hotel the night before.

it is another 'extra' cost to add in; we might be cheeky and see if we can get a lift from someone! :rolleyes1 lol

Hilton or Sofitel doesnt really matter. Hilton is in the south terminal but we always stay in the Sofitel in the north as all it is is the monorail ride - hardly a problem;)

Hilton does family rooms - 1 double with 2 single beds (maybe a cot too), as does Sofitel although they are very limited and usually sold out up to 5 -6 months before.

We booked 2 interconnecting rooms at Sofitel this year for 2 nights - one on the way into UK and one on the way out -, ours was a double king, the kids had a twin (they are 5 and 4) and it was cheaper on Expedia.com than a family room was???

Otherwise the Holiday Inn Gatwick Airport (not the Express one) we were out in one night when we got delayed and thats fine too - the family bedroom was a decent size and nice and modern.

Premier Travel Inn also has family rooms and they are right next to the terminal, never been there but they're cheap easy and very popular.
