gatwic terminal shuttle closed early?

I am hearing that the Gatwick train sghuttle has actually closed early and now the alternative bus to terminal is in effect.
if going soon you might want to leave more time

You're kidding me? Websites are still staying September 28?

We're flying from South Terminal next week and staying in Sofitel. Will be mighty annoyed if we have to mess around with the bus system.

I read the same thing on the Trip Advisor forums even though it still says 28th Sept on the Gatwick airport website!

I just called Gatwick Airport information and they are still telling people the 28th.

Just have to see when we get there!

Just called LGW Information.

The monorail is running on a LIMITED SERVICE until September 28.

From September 28 onwards it will be COMPLETELY CLOSED.

No idea what they mean by "limited service", the woman I spoke with said it's closed for a couple hours each day, at varying times.
