I didn't know which forum to post this, but we were thinking about hitting these two spots on our trip next week down to Orlando, too. Does anyone have any comments about these two places? Are they worth seeing? Which is the beach to go to at Cocoa Beach, and one that is kid friendly, fun stuff to do, best scenery, etc? How far a drive from Orlando?

Here's a link to a recent thread on Gatorland:

I haven't been to Cocoa Beach in a while, but the main beach there and the Pier are usually pretty family-friendly. I actually prefer the St Pete's Beach/Clearwater area for beaches from Orlando, but Cocoa is a good half-hour closer.

We just returned from staying 3 1/2 weeks in Florida and 1 of those weeks in Cocoa Beach.:D We enjoyed ourselves very much and since we were staying at a resort right on the beach we enjoyed it even more!;) We spent alot of time just walking the beach and enjoying the ocean and we checked out the Ron Jon surf shop........what a place that is! You're also very close to the Kennedy Space Centre which is fantastic.

Lots of restaurants and shopping also.

We also stayed 1 week at Fort Myers beach and there's nothing (in my opinion) quite like the Gulf. It's so warm and the sunsets are amazing! :)

Hope this helps and enjoy your planning.:)

PLEASE RESPOND PREVIOUS POSTER

Where did you stay in Cocoa Beach. I want to spend three nights in Cocoa Beach before we head to Disney. It's time my kids saw the ocean!

THANKS

My DH and two DD's loves this place in March when we were down. I heard about it for days! I opted to go shopping but they insist that I go with them next time. Go early if you go.Catch all the shows etc. if you go early. It is only a 2 or 3 hour visit if I remember correctly. :D
