Not most, only those looking to sensationalize the story.

I get it, some people like drama and creating it. But this is a sad story and doesn't need that.

If anyone took the time to actually listen to the Sheriff's multiple news conferences where the story was consistent .... they would know what he said. But it's okay, I get that it's not as headline worthy.

WOW .... and I thought Fantasyland was in the Magic Kingdom.
That was a bit rude IMO.

Either way the boy was not 10 feet from the shore. That is misinformation.
I don't think so. The other thread someone even measured the thing out with some sort of plotter.
Regardless, I doubt we will ever know the actual distance.

How did that person know though? I watched the press conference they never once said the boy was 10 feet from the shore. They said he was on the shoreline a foot into the water.

Are you referring to the one where the poster used a picture from Google Earth? The markings were terrible. They started with the assumption that it was 10 feet, and then started the measurement at the edge of the sand under the water and not at the point where the water actually met the sand.

I am not rude. I am trying to keep the conversation to the facts.

I think my posts over time have proven that I am not rude.

I not interested in sensationalizing this very sad story.

But some people are.

Hoping that soon all the threads on this story will be locked.

I think everyone now knows "don't go in the water" and

there really is nothing more to add.

Yes... And the measurements were indeed terrible. The point is those posts were where the masses thought it was 10 feet out, not necessarily the drawing was accurate.

Not fake, I assure you. My daughter and I along with several others spotted it near the bridge in front of Splash Mountain. The boardwalk along the water opposite Tom Sawyer Island is in part of one pic. Gator looks bigger in photo than it was. About 3 ft long.
We were there early September last year and also saw one by Splash Mountain

The news here stated he was found 15 - 20 yards from the shore. They didnt specify what shore. GF Shore, shore over by the MK? Also, he was 6 feet underwater...according to the news.
Yes... But they also said he was found in the immediate vicinity of where he was last seen.

MG

I really don't feel that was the general understanding not at least in what I've been reading or watching. I have been following this story very closely as well.
Okay. There's been so many threads in this subject I'm sure all possibilities were covered.

Is one foot into the water, probably one inch deep, "wading" ?? I'm trying to figure out why we had that debate now.
