There was some light/visibility there. And i didnt say 2 year olds. You said people, I said people. People swim in the dark sometimes.

It was a "vacation" idea and those are often the worst kind.

We'e tiptoeing around it here...ill say it. There was a lack of judgement by several parties here that unfornately resulted in a series of unfortunate events. And part of the reason was were it was and the high paying consumer assuming that Disney spends money and resources on something they never did.

Because Main Street usa is fake - doesn't mean the swamps around it are.

Exactly. I think there might be a couple more attention pieces like this to make it look like Disney has an alligator problem or something. There just isn't evidence that gators are all over property and lunging at people.

I also don't think you can 100% blame the company. You cannot control all alligators in Florida. You also have several reports of people feeding gators on Disney property. That is half of the problem right there. People should not be feeding gators it is illegal.

You can, to an extent.

If they know there's a potential threat of harm, they need to disclose it.

Just like how a store will put out a wet floor sign at the entrance when it's raining.

Should be common sense that the floor will be wet from people coming inside from the rain, however, the store is aware of the potential safety hazard, and they warn the public.

I haven't read every page of this, so I may be posting something that's been answered. But there seems to be some uncertainty about what the signage looks like. This pic is from a late April visit, so that's what the signage looked like fairly recently. Taking the picture, I am facing generally south I think - bar and pool would be to my right, and fire pit right behind me. I believe this is the spot where the attack happened. Just a horrible thing to have happen.

I guess you'll have to call carl from Liverpool to confirm since his word is no good. One of the kids needed to get attacked. Oh wait a minute, one of them just got killed last night.

I'm sure Disney has some surveillance out there somewhere. the beach is very popular at Poly. I'm not buying that Disney is clueless as the risks these predators were posing. I'm sure the increase in Poly night activity can contribute to their presence around that area.

I've yet to go to a beach that had signs like that other than "swim at your own risk". I've lived near the water my whole life. Sharks are present in our waters.

We have signs like the one shown. Minus the sharks as they're not an issue but they warn of rip tides etc... And some of jellyfish (ewww!)

so apparently a gator lunged at a family at the Poly weeks before. Yes I blame the company.

A meteor, really that's the argument.

I was using it as an example. Let's look at the odds. The odds of someone getting hit by a meteor 1 in 7,000,000. The odds of someone getting killed by an alligator 1 in 12,077,005. You are almost twice as likely to die from a meteor strike as you are from an alligator. Disney gets a large amount of rainfall every year. A good portion of this rainfall is in the form of a thunderstorm. back to our odds, the odds of you being struck by lightning is 1 in 77,746. So, you are 153 times more likely to get struck by lightning than being attacked by an alligator. Should Disney have signs everywhere warning of lightning? Or, should they do like that have been doing for many years, keeping an eye on the weather and shutting down rides when conditions exist to warrant it. Just like what they do with the wildlife population around the parks. If a threat is perceived, they remove the threat. Done and done. Unfortunately, a horrible chain of events happened that ended in the loss of a child. As a consequence of this tragic event, there may well be more signage everywhere that the danger exists and it would be warranted now. NOT then. Hindsight is ALWAYS 20/20 rarely is foresight though.
