Gateway NV Series Laptop - would you buy one?

I am looking to buy a laptop and am strongly leaning toward the Gateway NV series (the NV5815u).

It seems to have gotten good reviews (the whole NV line has) and is in my price range.

Just wanted to see if anyone had any experience with Gateway (and this model)!

Well, we don't have a laptop, but we have a regular Gateway which I love about as much as I can love any computer that isn't a MAC It works great, has decent speed and we would certainly purchase another 1 if we needed a 2nd computer. Would also seriously consider their laptop models based on owning this 1.

Know too many ppl who have bad experiences with DELL so no matter how many discounts I can get with them and I can get a few between Target and AVON I won't touch them.

I am going between Dell, HP and Gateway (as those are all in my range) and I hear good and bad for all three. It's so hard to make the right choice! CNET and Laptop Magazine rated the NV series pretty highly, so that seems good...

I wish I could afford a Mac, but the cost is just too prohibitive right now...

I have a Gateway laptop. I don't remember the model right off the top of my head. I've had no problems with it at all. I use it a lot! I'd buy another one in a heartbeat.
