We flew with our dd's last summer and had a Graco Duoglider with us. We have replaced that stroller with a baby Jogger City Mini which is a side by side double stroller (not a jogger). We would still like to gate check it, but it would not fold and go through the scanner like the front/back doubles do. Has anyone gate checked something like this? How did that work?

I have gate checked a combi twin savvy for 5 plane trips i think. Coming home from Richmond VA, the stroller has to be hand checked since it did not fit through the scanner. It was not a problem. I find that about half the time the stroller has to be hand check any way.
I thinking about on our next trip to Disney taking the mountain buggy urban double depending on if we decide to rent a car or mini-van or just me it.

OT, but do you like that stroller? I'm thinking about getting this for my upcoming twins, and I have not been able to see one in person. Just curious, if you like it.

TIA

Honestly, we've only had it a week, so our experience with it is limited. However, our initial impressions are very positive. It pushes incredible easily, it is light and easy to fold, our dd's seem to be comfortable riding in it. And it folds very compactly for travel (in fact, the wheels all detach VERY easily, making it possible to make it even smaller).

The only negative we have, to date, is that the access to the under-carriage storage is not good. There is a good amount of space underneath, but you can't get to it very easily (you can't, for example, slide a diaper bag in without un-buttoning the straps). It is a minor thing, for us, but one you should be aware of. All-in-all, we are very pleased. :thumbsup2

I've gate checked a Valco Twin - a little bigger than your mini. Anyway, they will take it through the wheel chair gate and wand it down.

Thanks for the tips!
