Gate Check Stroller

When you gate check at a stroller, does it have to be in a bag? What about a twin mac stroller, can you gate check a double stroller? Thanks.

we have only gate checked single stroller (not double) - have never needed to pack it in a bag....

I've gate checked everything from an umbrella stroller to a double All terrain/jogger stroller. I put it in a bag if Im worried about it getting scratched and banged up, but I never worried about a bag with my cheaper strollers. They came out fine....would just have scratches on them.

I didn't have a bag when I gate checked my twin mac.

I did have a bag for my Peg Perego Pliko because I had read on the Dis that the canopy of that stroller sometimes get damaged. I'll be taking a Mac Volo on my next trip and will be using the Peg bag for it. It seemed like the stroller(s) in the bag(s) were the last ones brought up.
