So, we went to Disney back in January. I had gastric bypass in April 2011. I had a card from my doctor basically saying I had surgery and please allow me to pay for a child size portion. I first tried at Chef Mickey's and they said not only are you paying for the food, but the entertainment as well. I then tried Crystal Palace. Same thing. Next, Liberty Tree which has no characters. They said Disney recently changed their policy on accepting these types of cards. So, no go on trying to get a little discount. Its not like I had a microwave and could reheat my meals either. But these places were all you can eat, so I just ate my little portion. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

That's unfortunate. I don't need it myself but I always thought that was a lovely courtesy to extend and I'm sorry to hear Disney has stopped.

no different than having a picky eater.. or someone who normally eats smaller portions, like myself.

it's why I no longer eat at Buffets at WDW.. no way can I justify paying the price for what little ( one, maybe two plates max) I eat

I have specific food issues that prohibit me from eating most of what the buffets offer. I go because of atmosphere and to have fun with my family. At the buffets with characters because I eat very little I get to take lots of photo's
