Gastric banding how do you dine

Hello! I had the proceedure done in Jan 2007 (wow it's been that long). When I made my reservations, I asked the person to note on our "file" that I had dietary issues and required smaller portions. At the different parks, I would just order off the kids menu and I never had an issue (I also liked getting the food in the Mickey plate, with the carrots and grapes, so cute!)

I have a band so would be interested in more views on this subject. I went to Disneyland Paris and tried to eat what I thought was safe foods for me (hamburger no bun and hot dog with no bun) but ended up PBing in the bathroom so I dont know what I would try and eat in Florida.

If your only issue is needing small portions then it shouldn't be difficult. I will start with pointing out that the dining plans will not be your best option unless you're just going to be sharing meals since you won't be able to eat the way the plans dictate. Sharing meals (obviously not an option at buffets or fixed price meals but an option everywhere else) can be a great way to be able to try all sorts of foods without worrying about wasting. You can order things like soups or sides instead of meals or foods from carts like egg rolls. Even though menus show foods as meals, you can order items a la carte. You pay less and you don't have the unecessary side.

If you have restrictions beyond just portion size then you'll want to contact Special Diets (check out the stickies above) to get more info about what options you have and also so they can send you information to be able to plan ahead easier as well as to put note on your reservations so chefs can be ready.

Plate sharing is a good way to go if you have a "partner". We do DVC villas which helps a lot.
