Gastons cinnamon rolls

We had cinnamon rolls at Gastons Tavern 10 days ago. We were disappointed. The rolls were very large but they were not warm at all. Not even a little. Also for those of you that may not know, the glaze drizzled on top is both regular and maple. I don't know if you can order without the maple but I thought I would give a heads up to those of you who don't like maple.

They looked good and it was nice to have the extra drizzle on them (with the maple), but they were as dry as dust. They need to reformulate their dough.

Sorry you were disappointed. Wonder if it can be a timing issue. Ours were wonderful, large soft and tasty.

We enjoyed them a couple of years ago. Large moist and warm

Oh, they were soft okay. But the dough had no flavor and was dry. No moisture at all in them, except for the frosting on top.

Ugh. Thanks for letting us know. DD and I are putting together our "must haves" and this was on it just based on the hype. Oh well, room for something else yummy.

Agree 100%. We were very disappointed. Big, dry, and not warm at all - tasted like they were baked 2 days before we ate them.

I had one once during the New Fantasyland soft opening, and it was fresh and warm, but I still didn't think it was anything special. I think there are better snacks out there. I also didn't care for Le Fou's Brew; it's basically just slushy apple juice :scared:

Oh no :( this is very disappointing. I was looking forward to trying one on my next trip but I HATE maple!

I really wanted to like them, but I was not a fan. I greatly prefer cream cheese frosting rather than icing - it just doesn't do it for me, no matter how much is on there.

My DS and I had one in November with Lafou's Brew and really enjoyed. We both thought it was good - DS said "no question about it!" BUT I do think the one's we use to get at Magic Kingdom Bakery were maybe a little more moist.

That would be the one in my avatar. It's shown next to my nephew's hand for sizing purposes. (He was a senior in high school at the time.)

I thought it was just me; I make pretty awesome cinnamon rolls, so I have high expectations. Gaston's were dry, too airy, and just not very flavorful. They did seem like they were day-old, too.

Ours were dry as well. I wondered if they might be day-old since we were there soon after opening. They should have been fresh and warm.

The ones from Main St. bakery are the must have for us. Not sure about now but they used to be 1 "snack credit" on the dining plan.

Unless it was temporary - when we were there in November they did not have them anymore at Main St. Bakery and were told we had to go to Gaston's to get the cinnamon rolls.

Oh that really stinks. Our last visit to MK we had a breakfast ADR at CP so we didn't go to the Bakery. DD did try one from Gaston's but said it was just ok - I had a bite and it was dry. I thought maybe because it was late (after 8pm) but after reading this thread, I see it is a quality issue.

I was looking forward to a Main St. roll on our upcoming December trip. I guess I'll have to wait until we get back to Universal and can get a Cinnabon!

Main Street Bakery hasn't served cinnamon rolls in a couple years...since Gaston's opened and MSB became a Starbucks.
