We're staying at Poly on the next trip and were unimpressed with Capt Cooks for Breakfast even for what it was, is Gasparilla Grill any better and worth a stop on the way to MK in the morning? We wanted to also try some of the Desserts (as part of breakfast) and am using breakfast as an excuse to kill two birds with one stone.

I would say it is not worth a special trip (unless you are interested in sitting outside at the marina with a view of Cinderella's castle). The food is standard quick service breakfast.

I've never been impressed with any of the quick service breakfasts. Generally I'll do "big" breakfasts at the cafe (Kona or GF) and skimp on lunch. The Wave has a good breakfast at the Contemporary too.
Or I'll just get a cinnamon roll at Gaston's. :)

It's okay, like any other QS on property breakfast, but I definitely would not make a special trip over to eat there.

I'd rather boat there from the MK for lunch or a late snack on the way back to the room if it were me.

IMHO, it's definitely better than Capt. Cook's (which is a chaotic nightmare!). If you have the time and want a QS breakfast, sure!

I'm glad that I wasn't the only person who thought this, I thought I was being some kind of jerk for not even remotely enjoying the experience. The watery eggs and "medium rare breakfast" potatoes/steak fries in the breakfast burrito was the cherry on top. I'd do Kona every day but have too many large lunches planned.

So far it's my favorite hotel quick service for breakfast. But I don't know if I'd go out of my way to go there, I was staying at the hotel the only time I've been.

I think Gasparilla's is much less chaotic compared to Captain Cook's. I prefer their menu and the way they prepare even their standard breakfast food like waffles and eggs. They have the added bonus of a yogurt bar and their coconut tart is supposed to be amazing. Also, I think they have a better coffee selection at Gasparilla's.

If you have the time in your schedule I'd say do it.
