Gasp! No parades beginning in Jan 2014?

Has anyone else heard that there may be no parades until Spring 2014?
While some people may not care for parades, this is our first trip as a family and we were looking forward to this.
I wasn't sure where to post this, if it's in the wrong area please let me know

If the rumors are true, Animal Kingdom will no longer offer a parade beginning January 2014. If that were true, there would be no parades in Walt Disney World from January until Spring 2014 when the new Magic Kingdom parade begins. It’s getting pretty sad in the Entertainment department with all the removals and scaling back that’s going on.

I have a hard time believing all parades would stop for 3mo. i could see them cutting back on parades but if current parades are going away, i would imagine there will be new ones and not with a 3mo gap.

Did I miss the news that both MK parades will be closed in February?

Since DHS is parade-less and I guess MK may have a gap between the current parade and the new one (Festival of Fantasy?) then maybe it's not so crazy?

Now, is that intended to be no AFTERNOON parade with MSEP still running? Hmm.

The only parade I can't do without is MSEP. If that is going too, then I am moving my Jan/Feb trip to December!

Yeah, I am not making the connection that cancelling the AK parade would mean a cancellation of both MK parades unless I missed something.

Festival of Fantasy will replace the Celebrate a Dream Come True parade in the afternoon. Start date is just Spring 2014 for now.

The linked calendar isn't accurate. When MVMCP ends, the Christmas Parade takes the place of CDCT at least through the first few days of January 2014. That is why it is rumored that CDCT ends/closes when the Christmas Parade begins.

No changes appear to be in store for the MSEP/DEP scheduling.

I don't understand it either. The parks with the least amount to do are receiving cutbacks.

Does anyone know how long the Christmas parade is supposed to last in MK? I know that AK's Christmas parade stops Jan 2. Just wondering about MK? If MK goes through Jan 3 I think we will hit up AK's so we can see it one last time.
