Thinking of getting some gas station gift cards for my incoming DCP participant. Which stations are near the complex?

7 - 11 if they are open. I can’t recall when they were planned to be built and opened. It has been a bit since I’ve been by.

Have they been approved for a parking pass?

Are they planning on driving to their assignment instead of taking the bus? Venturing offsite a lot?

My DCP didn’t find a car being necessary. More of a burden actually. She walked to the store when she needed something. There are scheduled buses to other shopping complexes as well.

Yes the 7-11 has opened onWestern Way Flamingo Crossings .
Also the 7-11 owns Speedway on Disney property.
You might want to consider AAAMembership in case she has any auto problems.
My son had to have car towed twice during hisCollege Program .
Also can recommend Starling Chevrolet on Orange Blossom as reliable dealership for repair work . They lease & maintain the Minnie Vans for Disney .
I have heard the Parking Pass is difficult to get so don’t delay applying.
The entire area is very new and very safe. But the traffic in early morn to go into Disney property is hectic and very busy . Their parking lot looks like a huge car dealership So big and many cars parked.
The Academy Charter Operates for the College Program and they take them to the bigger Target nearby . The Target near college program housing is small and basic but I also shop at both locations . I like the smaller Target sometimes , they have a lot.
I think the small pharmacy recently closed Inside that location .
There are many dining locations including Starbucks if you want to get more gift
cards .
Also some very nice hotel chains for your visit . I forgot but only one location has a pool with a slide . I’ll have to drive back over to refresh my memory and update their shuttle offerings. Let me know if you have any more questions.

I recommend not bringing a car because driving is not very safe .
Everybody drives fast and doesn’t always know where they are going .
I have lived in California and Arizona so I know crazy when I see it !

Yes, the 7-11 is opened and is your best bet. It's literally across the street from CP apartments.

The buses will take them to both Super Target and a large Walmart in a safe residential area. Both of those areas have a few other stores and restaurants.

Flamingo Crossings has a smaller Target with all of the basics (honestly very catered toward CPs and hotel guests) as well as Walgreens, a variety of restaurants, coffee shops, and even an ER. It's a very safe area and there are CPs walking around all the time. I've seen many pulling wagons for larger shopping trips.

Previous poster is correct that drivers here are terrible. Worse than Jersey. It's a situation where we have people from all over the world driving on the roads, as well as people from all over the world who have moved to FL and have a different style of driving than I have ever seen in my life, as well as just the aggressive Floridians. Add in the late night hours and short turnarounds with not enough sleep and you have fatigued Cps who really shouldn't be on the road. I would just rely on the bus. Lots of Cps do not have cars. None of the ICPs do. And they get by just fine.

My daughter suggested Wawa - she said it’s the closest gas station to the complex.

Maybe I was remembering wrong … sorry
I’ll have to drive back over .
My son thinks it is a Wawa too!

There are also reasonably pried gas stations on Disney property. One at the Car Care Center, one in front of Boardwalk, and one across from Disney Springs. I believe they are Speedway. They do not price gouge! And the one at Car Care Center had edible pizza (it's been a few years since I've had it). They used to be Hess stations, I am almost 100% positive they are Speedway now.

You'd have to go all the way down 429 if you want to remain near the Flamingo Crossings area. There's two 7-11s and (if your significant other has one in their hometown) Wawas nearby. I'd recommend the latter because Wawa is superior to 7-11 in terms of food and coffee.

My incoming DCP participant just got their room assignment - East - so would 7-11 or Wawa be better to get gas only at?

They can get gas on Disney property for basically the same price as off property. There are 3 Speedway gas stations located directly on Disney property, see post #8 above. They are as close, if not closer, than the WaWa's or 7-11.
