anyone know if all gas stations in kissimmee are pre-pay.....before pumping ?

I’m thinking most are pre-pay or swipe with a card.

There was a news story last year where some of the gas stations near the airport were charging $6 per gallon; when the average price locally was $2.50. They were targeting tourists trying to fill the tanks before returning rental cars. Technically legal if the sign from the street displays the price.

This has been going on for years.

And as far as I know there are only two of them. If there's no sign visible from the road telling you the cost of gas, just keep driving.

They do have signs, but they are up the side street, not the main road you would take north of the airport. Another half mile past them there is a Wawa with gas prices as normal. There is also the Shell station on Vineland road that has outrageous gas prices. They have a sign that is easier to see. I recall a few years ago that Orlando passed an ordinance that required them to put a sign at the road. Before that, these stations never had signs and you didn't know the price until you saw it on the pump.

Wawa gas station just down the road from MCO. Just past the gas stations with the outrageous gas prices. This is where I always fill up the rental car before turning it in.

Wawa Gas
6500 South Semoran Blvd.
Orlando, FL

2.7 Miles from MCO

What I've read is that the truly egregious two still don't have easily visible signs and their profits allow them to pay the daily fines.

I've never read of a Shell being one of them.

If you take 417 there are two gas stations at the Landstar exit which is the last exit before the airport and is 4 miles from the airport. Exit the highway turn right heading south and 1/4 of a mile down the road are two gas stations a Racetrac and 711.

If there is no conspicuous sign out front then you could drive in, look at the price in the pump, and drive back out if you don't like what you see.

Don't bother with the first two stations on Semoran Blvd (436) north of the airport, they are the super expensive stations.

Many folks who paid top dollar at those two stations were not scammed. They were short of time and had to buy gas in a hurry.

Might as well let the rental car agency refill the tank than use those super expensive stations.
