Just wondering from the locals (or anyone who has recently returned) what the gas prices are around DL these days? I'm almost afraid to ask. Its about $1.80 for regular around here (which I think is horrible!)

Just got back from DL. We used a shuttle service, but the driver told us gas is around $2 a gal there.

I think the price is pretty much the same nationally.
$2.79?? though!! yikes, was that super premium? It is $1.99 to $2.05 in Sacramento. $1.80 in Utah is good. I know someone in L.A. area and will try and report back as soon as she e-mails me.

I live in Orange County very close to DL and paid just today $2.43 for the mid-grade. Regular was a dime less and premium a dime more. My Caddy cost me over $41.00 to fill. Yikes!!!
And they say it will not be dropping any time soon, so if you are gassing up in OC, be prepared to shell out some bucks!

That just plain sucks.............. :faint:

Im also in Utah and its 1.85 in Provo/Orem

The ol days of getting a 15 dollar fill are long gone :(

family friend just reported they are paying $2.19 in Northridge area. (north of Anaheim). Prices may be higher (see Tink33's price of $2.79 in San Diego). Northridge is a suburban area and Anaheim/San Diego are tourists area. They may be "getting you" with the higher prices. Dang it anyway.

I've done some rough comparisons. Had to use my conversion calculator since I'm not very good at this stuff. Here's what I came up with

In Canadian (or metric), a fill for us in 80 Liters, we pay .80/L so a fill for us right now before the summer increases is about $64.00. That gives us 3/4 of a tank of gas. Last year we saw prices between 0.80 to 0.83 per liter during the summer.

When I translate into gallons (80L = roughly 21.13 gal) and use 2.79/gallon it looks like this:

21.13 gallons, X 2.79/ gallon (the highest price listed here) = $58.95 for the same amount of gas.

Looks like you're paying less for gas than we are. But we aren't driving down since we lose so much on exchange, anyway. I found this thread interesting since we had briefly considered renting a car once we get there, but decided against it partly because we've heard so many horror stories about the price of gas, mostly because dh doesn't want to drive in California.

I don't blame him! Traffic is crazy in L.A.! I've never seen so many cars in my life!!!

BTW, gas seems to be about $1.85 along the I-25 corridor between Denver and Colorado Springs in Colorado.

We were over in the LA area earlier this month. We paid 2.39 for Chevron premium In the San Fernando Valley(Chatsworth near Northridge) 2.60 on the PCH in Malibu. (1/4 mile down the road the Arco was 2.35) At Disneyland the Shell was 2.49 near our hotel/Edison field.

Thanks for all the replies. I've added another $25 to my gas budget for the trip (and I'm still not sure if its going to be enough!)

Paying $2.11 near Pasadena right now, one of the better deals around. Gas prices dropped a few cents about a week ago. You'll do well not to buy your gas right at a freeway offramp or immediately by DL; head up Harbor Blvd. a little bit (maybe when you are out getting a meal anyway or something like that) and I'm sure you'll find better prices than in the .5 mile around DL.

Wow, that's quite a jump between regular and midgrade.

Yesterday I was a few miles from DL and paid $2.30 for regular at a Mobil:mad:

I only put in a few bucks and then drove to Sam's club and paid $2.10 for regular.

Hi,
We would love to be paying your prices::yes:: Our price per litre is .76 pence:( To fill a Renault Clio (small city car) it is about £28.00. $49.61 approx.

We Americans just don't have a clue. We don't realize how other countries are paying sooo much more for gas and YET we are driving the biggest vehicles you can imagine. If you go to Alamo.com .....you have the opportunity to view selected vehicles you can rent for all countries.!!! All other countries have teeny tiny cars and yet, America's selections are small, large, larger, really large and oh so very large. Why is that? why
Okay, I apologize for diverting from the gas price observations.

Just paid 2.12 in Las Vegas, but nowhere near the strip.

We always try to fill up at the Cosco in Victorville when we go to & from LA; it is just off the 15 freeway just a little over an hour from Anaheim.

Good Luck!!
