I've done some rough comparisons. Had to use my conversion calculator since I'm not very good at this stuff. Here's what I came up with
In Canadian (or metric), a fill for us in 80 Liters, we pay .80/L so a fill for us right now before the summer increases is about $64.00. That gives us 3/4 of a tank of gas. Last year we saw prices between 0.80 to 0.83 per liter during the summer.
When I translate into gallons (80L = roughly 21.13 gal) and use 2.79/gallon it looks like this:
21.13 gallons, X 2.79/ gallon (the highest price listed here) = $58.95 for the same amount of gas.
Looks like you're paying less for gas than we are. But we aren't driving down since we lose so much on exchange, anyway. I found this thread interesting since we had briefly considered renting a car once we get there, but decided against it partly because we've heard so many horror stories about the price of gas, mostly because dh doesn't want to drive in California.
