Here they jumped 15 cents over night. I went to bed with them at 2.40 wokr up with them at 2.55

yeah, we woke up to $2.69 after it had been about $2.55 or so....

I think there are still lots of places where it's north of $3.

On the radio they reported that they had bottomed out last week and they expect prices back over $3 by summer.

Prices follow the ebb and flow of consumption. This is the spring rise. The summer rise is usually the steepest...

The trend here is that the prices sneak up to 2.69 or so every 4-6 weeks, then a nasty consumer confidence number comes out, oil falls, and gas prices retreat back to the 2.40s. We hit 2.65 yesterday, today has the bad CC number, and oil is way down. We should see under $2.50 again next week.

Crude oil prices have gone up about 8% during the last week. That has translated into a 6% rise in gasoline prices.

There are so many factors that go into the price of oil that it is hard to establish the reason for any particular price jag. Today, oil prices are down $1.74/bbl. If you could predict how they'll move, you could become very, very wealthy.

I got gas for $2.69 at the 7-11 over the weekend, I was so excited it was that cheap! LOL I really hate paying so much for gas, it's just so wrong. The Valero plant across the street from where I'm sitting right now has gas for $2.79 a gallon.

I noticed that too...I paid $2.55 last week and it's $2.61 this week.

Thankfully, in about 8 more days my commute will be cut in half so that will help.

Considering I have to put Premium in my Turbo'd car, I just have accepted that I will always pay more and if I wanted to reduce my costs I should get a different car (not that our car is bad on gas, about 22 HWY).

I drive a gas guzzler (sedan that gets about 19mpg for my driving). I actually like seeing gas prices go up, within reason.
