poll coming... which costs more per gallon?

Where I live it is gas, but down here in Hilton Head, it seems to be milk, by a pretty good margin.

Milk! It's nearly $6.00/gallon for the cheapest organic brand...the stores sell out of it half the time, so the more expensive stuff is even pricier. I think that even regular milk costs more than gas here.

I tried to vote on the poll, but it said I had already voted. :confused3

I paid 2.89/gallon for gas today, and last time I got milk it was 3.09 for a gallon.

Gas is still $2.85 a gallon and milk is only $1.99 here.

Wow... both are cheaper for you than where I live.... gas is $3.30 and milk is about $3.00

It's close.

Gas for 2.76. Milk at 2.69

herc.

I'm guessing here, because I don't look at grocery prices very often. Gas is about $3.15/gallon and milk (I think) is about $3.29/gallon.

Milk definitely - we're thinking of getting our own cow. It's cheaper than our own oil rig.

4.49 for 4 litres/3 bags of milk and it is 4.12 for 4 litres of gas here.

I find it funny how people complain about the price of gas but don't even flinch at the price of buying a bottle of pop or milk or bottled water makes me laugh to be honest.

Probably because you rarely need to buy 12 gallons of milk in 1 week.

Milk is $3.24 and gas is $2.89 for regular unleaded, 3.19 for premium, not sure what the in between one is.

I agree with the poster who said you don't need to buy so much milk, but I agree where bottled water is concerned. Many pay $1.00 without batting an eye for 1 bottle, and more when at an amusement park etc...

I agree but in our house we will drink 4 litres of milk in 3 days so we spend lots on milk in a month. I think we spend more on milk than we do on gas to be honest. We spend 45 dollars a month on milk and about 50 bucks a month on gas between 2 vehicles.

Here it's about the same - depends where you go for milk can be $3.25-$4.00, and reg gas is $3.49

I agree with you when you put it that way. As for me, I spend $7/month in milk and $140/month in gas. There's no comparison.

Milk definitely costs more. Gas is about $2.98. I think regular milk is about $3.50. I buy organic, non-homogenized whole milk from a local farmer for about $4/gallon.

I'm surprised that so many people have cheaper milk than we do. I thought that we had a relatively low cost of living here.

Wow that must hurt but I guess it isn't any different then us and our milk no matter what it is the money always has to go to something. In our case it is milk LOL. I guess it helps that DW and I like about 10 minutes away from our respective jobs.

Actually, I do whine about the price of milk!! :cool1:

Depends where you buy it here. Gas is around $2,70 right now and milk at the grocery store is over $3 but at Costco is around $2.20
