Has anyone noticed if any of the gas cards you can earn with any of the programs expire. I had some this past summer and I can't remember. Thanks for your help. Leah

Its been a while since I had any, but the way they DID work was after being issued for 12 months, there was a $1.50 service charge deducted per month. They did expire, but it was like in 2004... long time off.

Don't wait too long. These take a while to come so make sure you order them in plenty of time for your trip.

Thanks I called exxon and Shell yesterday and they said that they start to get a service charge of a dollar (or so) after one year. That really doesn't seem right for a "cash Card"

Mypoints does, reward tv does thats all I know but someone else may know more. I used them on our last trip. I don't fly so I figure if I get gas cards for nothing then nnobody in the family talks about the air.

If you get gas at Sam's Club, or some Wal-Marts that have a gas station out front, you can use a Wal-Mart gift card, and qualify for a cash discount. The Wal-Mart card is reloadable, and is the same 1400 points as the gas cards on mypoints.

So the Walmart cards don't expire? Do they get a service fee for being inactive after a certain amount of time?

California does not allow for expiration or service fees on gift cards or gift certificates. You will notice on a lot of cards it states the normal fee or expiration clause followed by something like "except where prohibited by law." I am sure there is a site that has a list - off the top of my head, I know NH, RI, HI, MA are also exempt, and PA was working on a law as well.
