Garter Fit

Hey brides,

I just bought my garter yesterday (love it and it totally matches my dress), and I tried it on when I got home. It was quite tight. I am a smaller person, but it felt so tight on my leg. Is this how the garter is supposed to fit? Also, did you wear yours around for a while before to stretch it out so it fit more comfortably on your wedding day. Also, how far up your thigh is it supposed to be?

Is this the garter that the groom is going to throw?

If it is, a friend of mine only put that garter on about 10 minutes before it was due to be taken off, so she didn't have to have it on all day.

If it's one that you're planning on wearing the whole day and keeping, then it might be worthwhile wearing it every now and then to stretch it out and get used to it

The garters are a set, the toss garter and my own to keep. Both are very snug. However, I can pull on it and have more room. And I was worried if it would be too big!!! Maybe if I put it over some sweat pants and wear it once in a while it will stretch a little.

when i tried mine on i remember thinking it was way too tight, but the day of the wedding i never felt my garters!! lol

So I looked at the tag attached to my garter that describes the tradition of the garter, and I figured out that mine is mean to be worn below the knee, not above. So I tried it on below my knee and it fit perfectly! I never knew there were 2 types. I would have preferred one above the knee, but I can't return this one. Oh well, it matches my dress so well that I would not want to return it!
