Garmin Nuvi 350 - problems with locations?

Does anyone with a Garmin Nuvi 350 have any problems getting certain locations to come up in the search? We got one for Christmas and have been testing it out on our regular routes. So far, we've had trouble finding at least three locations, two of which we would've expected to come up: one is a bar that a friend owns (it's small, so it didn't surprise us that it didn't come up in the list), another is a warehouse store (that I feel should be listed), and the third is an arena (which I definitely thought should have been listed but isn't).

The maps are all the 2008 updates, so I don't know if they're just not listed or what. Obviously it's not an issue for our test places or places that we have actual addresses for, but I'm a little nervous about using it on vacation and not having a clue where to even look for things.

Any advice? Are we doing something wrong with the updates?

My DS' DF bought him one for Xmas. He loves it and has had no complaints.

Yes, we've had problems with ours too. Once I needed to go to a school for DD's basketball game. It took me to an empty corn field. Maybe where the old school used to be?
THAT was very aggravating because I was late already.

The other time was looking for a Red Lobster and it took us to a spot about 1/2 mile away from the actual location. We think it probably USED to be there because once we drove around and found the Red Lobster restaurant, it looked new, but had probably been there for 2-3 years.

I thought maybe I needed to update the system or something? I just haven't gotten out the manual yet. My next thing to do was to make a phone call.

The other thing I noticed is that there are lots of local restaurants still listed that have gone out of business years ago. Someone from out of town would be really frustrated with the wrong info.

I have a different Garmin Streetpilot 340. Now I generally love it but we have a couple times where it won't find someplace. (like a container store that was opened last year) I have not figured out how to add it as a location? It won't take the street as a location at all? So I am no help. Just seems kind of random at what it doesn't know.
