Last time we were at DL, DH nearly had a fit over the walk to GardenWalk after spending a long day at the parks. I thought I remembered reading somewhere that if you hopped on the Toy Story lot buses, you'd be much closer to GardenWalk. Is this accurate?

Yes it is. ;)

Yup, the Toy Story lot is right across the street from the GW. You can easily cross the street and grab a bite to eat, and then when you're done get back on a FREE bus back to DL! :)

Umm...there is usually a shuttle running to Gardenwalk, it boards at the same location as where the Pumbaa shuttles board when the Pumbaa lot is open. Another option is to take the Pumbaa shuttle as well, it does put you at the other end of Gardenwalk, but it is an option.

Thanks everyone. We're still recovering from all the walking we did at WDW over the 12 days we were there, only getting back late Monday night. When I mentioned GardenWalk as an option for some of our meals last night, DH's first comment was something like, "Not that place that you drug us to last year--it's too far after walking all day at the parks".

Too funny! After our one and only trip to WDW and the experience of all that extra walking, compared to doing DL, I've been thinking walking over to Gardenwalk will be a breeze! Still, it sounds like the shuttle will be a nice option for your family.

The breeze I can't wait for is the sea breeze at DL! It was 95 just about every day of the WDW trip and got progressively more humid as the week wore on. We kept checking the DL weather while we were in Florida and drooled over the low 70s there the same days.

So, now it's all about packing to the extremes--from the 100+ heat index of WDW to (hopefully) beautiful temps at DL then most likely rather cool temps in San Francisco and finally, chilly Alaska! It's bad enough to go from DL to San Fran to Alaska on this trip with packing...imagine if we hadn't come home from WDW first in between!

I'm guessing the maps I'm looking at are old - is there still the CM parking lot between Toy Story & the Gardenwalk, and if so can you walk through? I'll be staying at the Super 8 right next to GW and if I can find a small walking "cheat" here and there, I'm all for it. Don't really want to get on the shuttle just to have to double-back out onto then up Harbor, then turn on Katella...

Yes indeed California has Florida's weather beat hands down!
Good luck with the packing. When we pack in the fall we have to deal with some of those same weather related packing dilemmas since it can be quite warm during the day and downright cold in the evenings. I've decided to follow the wise advice of some other folks around here. LAYERS. It's all about layers. Otherwise I could never pack enough to fit in a suitcase for 2 weeks! I bet you will come up with some sort of a plan! Of course, packing for Alaska IS going to be a little trickier. Have fun though. I bet you are having a blast with all your travels.

I'd love to hear the answer to this myself. We're new at heading to the park from that direction too so it would be nice to know all the details ahead of time.

Yes, you can walk through the CM parking portion of the TOy Story Lot and you come out at the light at Katella and Clementine (GW starts on this corner).

We have stayed at the Extended Stay on the opposite corner from GW on Clementine and often walked both to and from the Toy Story lot. While we have APs so no parking fee for us, it just seemed crazy to drive the car all the way around to the TS lot entrance just to have it sit in that lot all day, lol.

I'm sorry, I can't seem to find a map or picture of the parking lots with any detail.
How exactly should I do this, depending on which park I am walking out of?
I need to get to GardenWalk for meals in the shortest time possible.

If DL, how? If DCA how?

Is google maps up to date enough to show anything that would help?

Would a bold soul here mark up an overhead view from google maps and post?

Ok, I'm not sure how to mark up an overhead view....but try this:

http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Katella+%26+Clementine,+Anaheim,+CA+92802&hl=en&ll=33.80044,-117.909007&spn=0.009254,0.022638&sll=33.784462,-117.911024&sspn=0.009256,0.022638&z=16

That should take you to a map of the corner of Katella and Clementine. Under the little red arrow thingy it says "Cheesecake Factory". That is the corner of Gardenwalk.

That big blank area which is surrounded by Katella, Harbor, Orangewood and Haster is the Toy Story Parking Lot. The white road off Harbor named W Convention Way is the public entrance to TS lot. You'll enter the lot there and park whereever they put you in that big lot. Then you'll walk toward the employee lot. See where Clementine Road at the red arrow thing at Cheesecake Factory actually crosses Katella...that is the Employee Entrance, but it's also where the TS buses exit the lot and head down Clementine to Disney Way, turn left, cross Harbor and enter the park bus drop off area.

You want to walk through the employee lot and out that employee entrance/bus exit to cross Katella and Clementine and all of Garden Walk is right there surrounded by Katella, Clementine, Disney Way, and Habor. The map shows Cheesecake Factory, Bubba Gump and closer to Disney Way "The Shops"...but in between all that is all the rest of Garden Walk stores and restaurants.

Hope that helps!

Oh shoot...I don't think I answered the question you were asking, lol. Sorry! Since someone had asked about walking through the Toy Story parking lot to get to Garden Walk and then you asked for more specifics....oops, you were actually asking how to get there from Disneyland parks, not from the Toy Story lot. Ok....easy to still explain.

Use the map I posted above......now find the red arrow again. That's the corner of Katella and Clementine, and the beginning of the square block that is Garden Walk.

Drag the map down a little so that you can follow Clementine to Disney Way.....turn left and cross over Harbor Blvd and you're following the path the buses take into where they drop you off. When you get off the bus you walk straight ahead and you're in the plaza area between the two parks. So.....going backwards....when you come out of either park turn AWAY from DTD and go past the ticket booths and security and you'll see all the buses dropping off and picking up folks. Keep walking and you'll end up at the stoplight at Harbor and Disney Way. As I recall you can see a huge Garden Walk sign from that stoplight to give you a visual to finding it, but just follow Disney Way and it's on the right hand side. It's the whole square block bordered by Disney Way, Harbor, Katella and Clementine.

Garden Walk has a website: http://www.anaheimgardenwalk.com/ and if you click on Directory it has an interactive directory so that you can figure out where in that square block the restaurant/shop you want to get to is located so you know how far to go down the street.

Sorry for not answering properly the first time, hopefully I now understand your question and answered it more appropriately!
